1966-1968 - Brett Newcomb

Brett Newcomb graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a B.A. degree in social studies in 1969, and graduated from Webster University with a M.A. degree in counseling services in 1982. Brett has taught for several years in the St. Louis, MO area, including social studies for the Rockwood School District, 1972-1989; public speaking, persuasion, and small group dynamics in the communications department at Meramec Community College, 1987-1988; general psychology, group techniques, and elementary school counseling at Missouri Baptist College, 2001; and graduate counseling courses at Webster University, 1987-present. Brett is currently Site Director of the M.A. program (Counseling) at Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. Since 1982, Brett has also worked as a licensed professional counselor (adolescent and family therapist) at West County Psychological Associates and Sutherland & Associates, P.C.

1969 - Charlene Coleman

1970 - Don Rhodes, Jr.

Don Rhodes, Jr. graduated from Sylvan Hills High in Sherwood, AR in 1968 and entered State College of Arkansas (now University of Central Arkansas) that year. He graduated in 1973 with a B.S.E. in History with a double minor in Political Science and Journalism. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the USAR. He served with the Arkansas National Guard and with the U.S.A.R. in New Orleans, LA. He is a graduate of the USMC Command and Staff College. He served in Southwest Asia for Operation Desert Shield/Storm and rose to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations for U.S. Army Central Command (Forward). He retired from the U.S.A.R. in 1996 as a LT. Colonel. His civilian career includes over 25 years in the financial services industry, including service as a financial institution president/CEO. Don is currently Director, Risk Management Policy for the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C.

1971-1972 - Keith Vaughan

Keith Vaughan graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Central Arkansas in 1974, and earned a J.D. from the School of Law in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1977. Keith practiced law as a private attorney in Jacksonville, Arkansas from 1977 to 1991, and also served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Pulaski County from 1982 to 1986. In addition, he served as the elected City Attorney in Jacksonville, Arkansas for two terms from 1983 to 1990. After moving to Texas, Keith worked as City Attorney in Holiday Lakes from 1991 to 1993, and practiced law as a private attorney in Angleton, Texas from 1991 to 2007. During this time, Keith worked as City Attorney in Angleton, Texas from 1991 to 1997 and 1998 to 2008. In December 2008, Keith became the Special Assistant City Attorney, General Counsel Division, in Houston, Texas.

1973 - Ursula Nunn Polk

Ursula Nunn Polk was born on December 20, 1952 at Fort Hood, Texas to Howard and Ilse Kalmering Nunn. As a child, Ursula lived in Germany and Turkey. Ursula graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1971, and was married to 2nd Lt. Fred Lee Polk in West Point, New York on June 5, 1974. Ursula graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Central Arkansas in 1975, and she received her commission as 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army in 1976. Throughout their careers in the U.S. Army, Ursula and her husband were stationed in many locations, including Germany and Panama (where Ursula participated in the planning and execution of Operation Just Cause and became one of the first post-Vietnam War female soldiers to earn a combat patch). Ursula received her master's degree in public administration from American University in 1983. Ursula and her husband served as assistant professors at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. Ursula attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth in 1990, and then served as an instructor at the college in 1991. Ursula later taught government, economics, and international relations at Immaculata High School in Leavenworth, Kansas. Ursula's final rank in the U.S. Army Reserve was Lt. Colonel. Ursula died of complications related to breast cancer on June 26, 2005 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was survived by her husband Fred, son John, and daughter Jessica.

1974 - Ross Moore

1975 - Lionell Owens

After graduating from UCA with a degree in Political Science in August 1976, Lionell Owens attended law school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Upon graduating from law school in 1980, Lionell worked as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force (U.S.A.F.) at Keesler AFB, Mississippi and Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines from 1980 to 1985. Subsequently, Lionell worked as a Special Agent with the U.S.A.F. Office of Special Investigations (OSI) at various locations in the U.S. and Saudi Arabia until retiring from active duty in the U.S.A.F. in 2003. At that time, Lionell began working as a civilian special agent with the U.S.A.F. OSI. In June 2003, Lionell was deployed to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom as Deputy Director of Counter-Intelligence for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) in Baghdad, Iraq. Shortly after returning to the U.S. in December 2003, Lionell worked as an Instructor at the U.S.A.F. Special Investigations Academy in Glynco, Georgia (April 2004-February 2006); Force Protection Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Sana'a, Yemen (February 2006-September 2006); and Chief of Counter-Intelligence/Warfighting, U.S.A.F. OSI, 4th Field Investigations Region (4 FIR), Randolph AFB, Texas (September 2006-present).

1980 - Paul W. Kimbrough

Paul W. Kimbrough graduated from Little Rock's Parkview High School in 1977. Four years later, he graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway with a degree in political science. He joined the U.S. Army before returning to complete his education at the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, where he headed up the Black Law Students Association. Paul followed his commitment to public service into the political arena, first working on the staff of U.S. Representative Ray Thornton, and then running in his own campaign for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He lost that race, but that didn't slow him down. Paul's next challenge took him to Washington, DC, where he came to work in the U.S. Department of Transportation in the inspector-general's office. Lieutenant Colonel Kimbrough remained active in the U.S. Army reserve, and in June he was deployed to Afghanistan with the 416th Engineer Command, where he helped to oversee improvements to living conditions for soldiers at Bagram Air Base. On October 3, 2003, Paul was flown to Incirlik, Turkey for medical treatment. He died of cardiac arrest en route to Turkey.

Preston Scroggin graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Central Arkansas. He has been the owner of Scroggin Farms near Vilonia since 1989. Preston served two terms on the Vilonia city council, and served three terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2000 to 2006. Preston was elected Faulkner County Judge in 2006.

Jenny Swensen (Shelton), formerly of Springdale, Arkansas married in 1999 while attending the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville to obtain a fashion merchandising degree. She left school in 2001 to become a stay at home mother. After several moves around the country, she now resides in Joplin, Missouri with her husband and two children.

Michael Hopkins, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas and a graduate of Russellville High School now resides in Little Rock, Arkansas and is the owner of Max Motors, Inc., an independent automobile dealership near downtown North Little Rock.
