134 th Commencement MAY 2021 Welcome Dear Temple graduates, Congratulations! Today is a day of celebration for you and all those who have supported you in your Temple journey. I couldn’t be more proud of the diverse and driven students who are graduating this spring. Congratulations to all of you, to your families and to our dedicated faculty and academic advisors who had the pleasure of educating and championing you. If Temple’s founder Russell Conwell were alive to see your collective achievements today, he’d be thrilled and amazed. In 1884, he planted the seeds that have grown and matured into one of this nation’s great urban research universities. Now it’s your turn to put your own ideas and dreams in motion. Even if you experience hardships or disappointments, remember the motto Conwell left us: Perseverantia Vincit, Perseverance Conquers. We have faith that you will succeed. Thank you so much for calling Temple your academic home. While I trust you’ll go far, remember that you will always be part of the Cherry and White. Plan to come back home often. Sincerely, Richard M. Englert President UPDATED: 05/07/2021 Contents The Officers and the Board of Trustees ............................................2 Candidates for Degrees James E. Before the limited series Crisis on Infinite Earthsthe two iconic characters were depicted as the best of friends. After the first 13 issues, most of the story arcs were independent and self-contained from the ongoing or Superman / Batman: Vengeance storylines in the other Batman and Superman comic titles. Twenty-six writers and artists who knew Sam worked on the issue, donating their fees and royalties for the issue to the Sam Loeb College Scholarship Fund. LoebSuperman / Batman: Vengeance wrote Superman for two years before the launch of the title, wrote the book for the first two years of its publication. Unlike later writers, Loeb's work on the book lasted for several storylines, which were interconnected. President Lex Luthor declares Superman and Batman enemies of the state, claiming that a Kryptonite asteroid headed for Earth is connected to an evil Superman / Batman: Vengeance by Superman. Superman almost kills Lex, with Batman standing aside. Superman changes his mind at the last moment. The new Superman / Batman: VengeanceHiro Okamura, assists with the asteroid's destruction. Captain Atom is seemingly killed. Luthor is defeated and appears to die in the battle, although he is shown to survive. Cubed Circle Newsletter – Payback 2013 In this week’s newsletter we look at the 2013 Payback pay-per-view, as well as the fallout from RAW, the rating that the show did, NXT, a decent edition of iMPACT, All Japan fallout and SmackDown. It is a smaller issue than usual, but fear not! As next week we will be back with a look at Saturday’s New Japan Dominion show, as well as ROH’s Best in the World iPPV. We also have a few big changes coming to the newsletter in the coming months, so stay tuned for that. And with all of that out of the way, I hope that you enjoy the newsletter and have a great week. - Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor News WWE Continue Great Run with Payback The past week and a half or so has been a great period for the WWE from a quality perspective, and they continued that run this week with a their 2013 Payback show from the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Going into the show I wasn’t expecting a blow-away card, but they over delivered with some great moments in front of a crowd that has been arguably one of their most consistently great ones over the past few years. The show was expected to be somewhat of an unnoteworthy show, but the opposite was actually the case, with multiple title changing hands, and seeds for the biggest feud of the summer, Brock Lesnar versus CM Punk, being planted during a great outing between CM Punk and Chris Jericho.

  • January 20, 2021 President Joseph R. Biden Jr. the White House 1600
January 20, 2021 President Joseph R. Biden Jr. The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC 20500 Dear President Biden, Congratulations on your inauguration as the 46th President of the United States! You are taking office at a time in American history when our country is facing many challenges. We are writing to bring your attention to one of the immense, but solvable, challenges facing the United States, and one with which you, sadly, have personal experience — roadway fatalities. Our country loses almost 40,000 community members each year as a result of crashes. You know all too well the pain and devastation that comes when someone is killed in a crash. These are not just numbers — each life is someone’s family, friend and neighbor. We are asking that you commit to reduce roadway fatalities to zero by 2050. As a nation, it is time to take decisive and collective action to address roadway safety and save tens of thousands of lives and millions injured in preventable crashes. For decades, we have known the solutions in this country and watched other countries make incredible progress towards this goal, while we have lacked the leadership to make roadway safety a national priority in the United States. We look to you, as a leader with lived experience, to prioritize a goal of zero fatalities and advance accompanying policies across your administration. We encourage you to engage and lead on this topic globally, joining other nations as they share efforts in road safety. We are committed to roadway safety and know what it takes to achieve zero deaths.
