Incorporated in Delaware in 2016, CRSC (USA) Inc has opened its doors to the North America market to provide train control, rolling stock, and communication integrated solutions. CRSC (USA) Inc. specializes in system engineering services which includes systems design, systems integration, implementation, verification and validation. CRSC (USA) Inc will bring our parent company manufacturing capabilities to US soil for all those projects where Buy America is a requirement. Our parent company, CRSC LTD, initiated their services in 1953 as a Systems Integrator and has been become a global leader in transit control systems and rolling stock industry with their own OEM Products and Systems Solutions. CRSC ETCS-2 System Overview The ETCS-2 provided by China Railway Signals and Communications (CRSC) USA Inc. is a high-speed signaling system based on the already proven and safe European Train Control System Level 2 (ETCS-2) and meets all of its requirements. The ETCS-2 is a cost-effective, compact train control solution applicable to high speed rail, intercity rail, and commuter rail. The ETCS-2 implements the highest levels of safety while meeting peak customer demands for flexibility and performance. The ETCS-2 system is designed adhering to the principles of fail-safe operations with a max operating speed of 350 Km/h (217 MPH) and improved headway of 3 minutes. All subsystems within the ETCS-2 system comply with CENELEC standards and have passed the required safety assessments thus, acquiring a safety integrity level of SIL4. Safety Certifications for the ETCS-2 have been recognized and awarded by internationally recognized third party certification bodies known as TUV, Lloyds of England, and Atkins. The ETCS-2 is characterized by maintainability, reliability, and availability comprising of a multi-redundancy structure that utilizes reliable standard components for all the major equipment within the system. Using standard equipment reduces equipment types, increases the amount of available spare parts, and improves repair times. To meet various customer requirements, the ETCS-2 is a scalable and flexible system of modular design allowing ease in modification, extension, and customization of the hardware and software system. The ETCS-2 system offers the ability to interface with existing railway systems allowing phasing of migration minimizing technical and operational complications. During the life cycle of the system, these factors combined help mitigate maintenance costs and minimize system faults. Key Benefits Fail Safe: delivering the highest level of safety. The RBC, TSRS, ATP, and Balise meet SIL4 requirements. Excellent Reliability and Availability: designed with a 2oo2 redundant architecture for the RBC, TSRS, ATP. High Maintainability and Lower Maintenance Costs: due to reduced equipment types, spare parts, and repair times. Flexible System Architecture: with a modular design that is customizable to the customer’s needs. Suitable for Different Kinds of Interlocking Systems High-Speed Operating: maximum train operating speed of 350 Km/h (217 MPH) with an improved headway of 3 minutes which increases line capacity, train service frequency, and reduces delays. Short System Delivery Times: minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Onboard Equipment with 5 Driving Modes: Full supervision mode, Shunt mode, and On-sight mode, Staff Responsible mode, and Isolation mode; ensuring safety and reliability for all scenarios. Functions of the Centralized Train Control (CTC) system Observes and records train operation Adjusts train operation schedule Monitors train operation / displays at workstations Train operations control (automatic & manual) Speed limit governing System maintenance functions System clock management Functions of station subsystems and wayside equipment Radio Block Center (RBC) controls and manages trains in continuous communication level governing movement authority, verifying train locations within RBC boundaries, transferring track and speed information, train registration, and emergency messages. Temporary Speed Restriction Server (TSRS) is responsible for management of temporary speed limits. Key Management Center (KMC) generates and maintains train to ground wireless communication keys. DS6-60 Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) automatically or manually arranges routes according to CTC commands based on information statuses received from wayside equipment (signals, axle counters, track circuits, switch machines). Maintenance Management System (MMS) performs online monitoring of the control center, each station, the depot, status of each subsystem equipment, and fault alarms providing real- time and historical conditions. Also, the MMS manages work zone boundaries. Functions of On-board systems Onboard Automatic Train Protection (ATP) is responsible for reporting train position, supervising speed, supervising movement authority, and displaying actual speed, permitted speed, track data, and diagnostic data to the driver through the Driver-Machine Interface (DMI) Onboard Automatic Train Operation (ATO) is responsible for calculating target speeds, automatic driving mode, automatic train operation, automatic control of train doors, and stopping at the platform Onboard driving modes include Full Supervision mode (FS), Shunt mode (SH), On-sight mode (OS), Staff Responsible mode (SR) and Isolation mode (IS) CRSC (USA) Inc. 4168 Southpoint Pkwy Suite 202 Jacksonville FL, 32216 www.crsc-us.net ETCS-2 System Network Structure The Data communication Network (DCS) is responsible for communicating all information and is comprised of both a wired network and a wireless network. Both networks are accessed through the switching equipment within the DCS subsystem, except for the maintenance network. All wired and wireless networks adopt an A/B dual network redundancy configuration ensuring network availability in case of a network device or path failure. Wired network The wired network supplies a transmission path for independent networks, a redundant safety network, a redundant CTC network, and a maintenance network. The safety network achieves communications between CBI, RBC, and TSRS The CTC network transmits data between units The Maintenance network transmits data related to maintenance monitoring Wireless Network The wireless network supplies a transmission path for trackside RBC and Onboard equipment The RBC network transmits data for controlling and managing trains running in continuous communication level The Train-to-Ground wireless communication supports 220Mhz radio and GSM - R ETCS-2 Technical Specifications and Safety Compliance RAMS indicator reference Equipment System Reliability System Availability System Maintainability CTC MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour RBC MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour TSRS MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour ATP MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour CBI MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour Crossing Controller MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour Balise MTBF >1×105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour Axle Counter MTBF ≥ 1.75 × 105 hours ≥99.999% MTTR < 1 hour Compliance with Safety Requirements: ETRMS Systems Requirements Specifications 3.6.0 EN50125 EN50126, EN50128, & EN50129 (SIL4) EN50159 ISO 9001 & ISO 19011 CRSC (USA) Inc. 4168 Southpoint Pkwy Suite 202 Jacksonville FL, 32216 www.crsc-us.net .
