How to find us FROM CARDIFF AIRPORT: Follow signs for Cardiff passing through numerous small roundabouts until you come to a large roundabout with partial traffic lights, there you take the fourth exit signposted ‘A4232 City Centre’. Keep travelling towards Cardiff Bay for several miles, crossing over the River Taff and go under the Butetown Tunnels. After exiting the tunnels, stay in the right-hand lane to approach the roundabout. Take the second exit, then turn right at the traffic lights, stay in the right-hand land and turn right again at the next set of lights. At the mini roundabout, if by car tum left and park in the Pierhead Street car park (pay and display), or by foot turn right, and head towards the two large red buildings. FROM THE M4: Exit the M4 at junction 33 onto the A4232 towards Cardiff Bay. Keep travelling towards Cardiff Bay for several miles, crossing over the River Taff and under the Butetown Tunnels. Move to the left hand lane on the roundabout and follow all the way round, leaving at the second exit in the right-hand lane. FROM THE CITY CENTRE: The easiest way to our offices is by taxi, which is only a 5 minute journey. However, if you are driving, leave the city centre via Bute Street. Go under the bridge and bear left at the lights and the immediate right into Lloyd George Avenue. Go straight ahead through numerous sets of lights all the way to the bottom towards the Wales Millennium Centre. Bear left at the last set of lights signposted ‘Welsh Assembly’ and at the next junction turn left at the traffic lights and left again at the next set of lights to the mini roundabout, at the mini roundabout if by car turn left and park in the Pierhead Street car park (pay and display), or by foot tum right. and head towards the two large red buildings. The regeneration of Cardiff Bay is now widely regarded as one of the most successful regeneration projects in the United Kingdom.[1] The Bay is supplied by two rivers (Taff and Ely) to form a 500-acre (2.0 km2) freshwater lake round the former dockland area south of the city centre. The Bay was formerly tidal, with access to the sea limited to a couple of hours each side of high water but now provides 24 hour access through three locks[2] . History Cardiff Bay played a major part in Cardiff’s development by being the means of exporting coal from the South Wales Valleys to the rest of the world, helping to power the industrial age. The coal mining industry helped fund the building of Cardiff into the Capital city of Wales and helped the Third Marquis of Bute, who owned the docks, become the richest man in the world at the time. As Cardiff exports grew, so did its population; dockworkers and sailors from across the world settled in neighbourhoods close to the docks, known as Tiger Bay, and communities from up to 45 different nationalities, including Norwegian, Somali, Yemeni, Spanish, Italian, Caribbean and Irish helped create the unique multicultural character of the area.
