The non-profi t Drumthwacket Foundation is responsible for preserving, restoring, and curating the house and the grounds which include, beyond the mansion itself, adaptively restored Italianate gardens; acres of mowed lawn; a restored visitor’s center; a large new vis- itor parking lot; some perimeter woods; and a private area with tennis court, swimming pool and bath house which have fallen into disuse.
