Pellon® makes two di erent types of fusible web. One is Pellon Wonder-Under® 805 and the other is Pellon Wonder-Web® 807. Wonder Under has paper and comes in two weights. Wonder web is paperless. Pick the type that suits you best. The heavier wonder under is not suitable for the To Grandmother’s Cottage quilt.

PAPER BACKED FUSIBLE

When using paper backed fusible, you must reverse the design if it is nonsymetrical. If it is symetrical, you do not have to reverse it. Pellon Wonder-Under® is paper backed. You can either trace the design onto the paper or you can print it using an ink jet printer. Do not print it using a laser printer because they heat the image onto the paper and that will make a gummy mess and could damage your laser printer when the web melts. If you do not know which direction the print heads face, test it by putting a large X onto one side of an 8 1/2” x 11” piece of paper. Load it into your printer, X side up. Print something onto this piece of paper. Check for the X and you will know which way to load your paper. Rotary cut Wonder Under ® into 8 1/2” x 11” sheets. Load them one at a time so that it prints to the paper side.

After , lay the Wonder-Under fusible side down on the wrong side of your fabric and iron, making sure the entire fusing area is bonded. Let cool. Cut the pieces on the pattern lines. Peel the paper o and place each piece on your block web side down, following placement order of the pattern. Fuse in place with the iron. See tips below.

PAPERLESS FUSIBLE

When using paperless fusible, you do not have to reverse the design. Pellon Wonder-Web® is paperless. Using parchment paper that you can purchase at any grocery store works fabulously with Wonder-Web. Parchment paper will feed through and print on your ink jet printer or you can trace the design onto the rough side of the parchment paper. Test your printer as described above. Rotary cut the parchment paper into 8 1/2” x 11” sheets. Press the sheets on the smooth side so they will lay atter. Load the printer one sheet at a time. Print on the rough side of the parchment paper. TIP: It is not very rough, so feel both sides carefully to make sure you are printing on the rough side.

After printing, lay the Wonder-Web on the wrong side of your fabric. Cover that with the parchment paper, having the printed side (rough side) of the paper against the Wonder-Web. Fuse with the iron. TIP: You must let it cool so the markings transfer to the Wonder-Web. Peel the paper o and cut on the drawn pattern lines. Place each piecs onto your block web side down, following placement order of the pattern. Fuse into place with the iron.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Temperature, steam, time and pressure are important for a good bond. Detailed instructions for the use of these products are included when you purchase them.
