There was great communication between the workers. The volunteers pitched in when they were needed. It was discovered that the sizes of the new containers were inappropriate for our needs. With the discovery of some of our old crates, efforts will be made to better organize for the 2019/2020 season. Poinsettias were donated to the volunteers and community members. • Bingo volunteers for the 2019 season were confirmed by Rosann. • The Chico Fashion Show is scheduled for February 6, 2019 at 12:00 noon. Starting at 11:00 AM local vendors will display their goods for sale in the Helm Club Lobby. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Children’s Minds Matter Program at Golisano Children’s Hospital. It was confirmed that eight (8) volunteers are scheduled to model Chico’s apparel. Christy, Jean, Becky, Katherine, Bobby and Eva volunteered to assemble 18 center pieces on February 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM. Post meeting, Michele confirmed that the volunteers will meet in the Main Deck and that the Fashion Show was sold out in 1 ½ days after the fliers were distributed. • The selection of the replacement for the plastic straws has not been finalized. • The outdoor lighting in the west parking lots was discussed and Doug will continue to resolve this issue. • The addition of a Wine List in the Wheelhouse is in process. • Three picnic tables and benches at Picnic Point are being modified for handicapped access. New Business: • The New Year” Midnight in Paris” event was successful. Many residents participated in both, the Taco Buffet at the Wheelhouse as well as the Late- Night Buffet at the Compass Rose. • The Movie “Good Night Lenin” is being shown on January 16, 2019. We expect 40 – 50 participants. • “The Mentalist” Dinner Show on January 28, 2019 is sold out to 180-200 members. It was agreed that this kind of dinner show should be offered more frequently. • The Fine Arts Competition will be on display February 4, 2019 through February 8, 2019 in the Helm Club Lobby. • Special activities during the summer months were discussed. Doug stated that in past years several special functions were offered but they were not well attended.
