Becky welcomed the new Committee Members as well as the new Board Liaison. She asked for a motion to approve the January 9, 2019 minutes. Jane made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Jeni. Re-election approved of returning Chair Persons Becky Carlson and Eva Bell Review of Old Business • The February 6, 2019 Fashion Show was reviewed. It was overall well received but comments from the models were that the clothes did not fit well, they were uncomfortable to wear. The Chico representative selected the outfits for the models. Comments from the audience were that the Main Deck was over-crowded. The Committee discussed the possibility of holding two fashion shows on consecutive days, either with two (2) different vendors or with the same vendor for both days. • Full time residents are asking for more events in the summer months. Michele is considering monthly cooking classes, wine tastings, card boat regattas, Trolley trips and Pasta Night at the Wheelhouse. • Christine stated that a new Wine & Cocktail List is now available at the Wheelhouse and staff is being trained to offer the list and beverages available. • The Mentalist Show on January 28, 2019 was well attended and the food was excellent. In 2020 the Landings will offer a different type of entertainment but the Mentalist could return in 2021. • The 24-hour Cancellation policy is being enforced; callers are being informed of it when they make their reservation. All fliers will state this as well. Residents must call no later than 24 hours prior to the event so they are not billed. • February and March Bingo games were sold out. Some people, however, make reservations but do not show up. We have empty seats at the event and people wonder why they were told the event was sold out. Since there is no charge at this time, we are considering to charge at least the $5.00 for no-shows. Michele does call people on the waiting list when she gets cancellations but she does not know of any no-shows in advance. There are four (4) Bingo games scheduled for 2020. They will be held on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. New Business • Easter Egg stuffing is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the Garden Room, 12 members have volunteered for this. Lunch will be provided by The Landings. The Easter Celebration is on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. We are looking for a volunteer with a boat to bring the bunny and his helpers in. Volunteers for the Bounce Houses and other games are being recruited. • We cannot do any 50/50 raffles at the Landings; it is considered gambling. • Eva emphasized the importance of members showing up for our meetings, we need 12 members present in order to make quorum. Committee members are also expected to volunteer for different events. • Committee applications and renewal forms must be received by the Administration in time. After applications have been approved all applicants will be informed by the Administration office. At 3:00 PM Heather made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Eva. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in the Pursers Quarters. Respectfully submitted, Jane Johnson, Secretary .
