Dr Neville Purssell Chair, NHS Central London CCG Central London: Governing Body meeting Central London CCG’s next Governing Body will meet in public on 8 March 2017, from 3pm-5pm at Conference Rooms 5.3 and 5.4, 5th floor, 15 Marylebone Road, London NW1 5JD. The agenda and meeting papers are available on the CCG website. Download papers Weekend and evening GP access available soon in Westminster Westminster patients can book GP appointments in the evening or at the weekend From March 13, weekend and evening GP appointments will be available to all patients registered or resident in the Central London CCG area. The new service offers GP and practice nurse appointments from 6.30pm-8pm on Monday to Friday, and from 8am–8pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Some bank holiday appointments will also be available. The service will be delivered across three sites: NHS Central London CCG stakeholder newsletter - March 2017 Central Westminster, Connaught Square, 41 Connaught Square, W2 2HL South Westminster, Pimlico Health at the Marven, 46-50 Lupus Street, SW1V 3EB Central/North Westminster, Westbourne Green Surgery, Health at the Stowe , 260 Harrow Road, London W2 5ES As you may know, the Central London CCG area includes all of Westminster except Queen’s Park & Paddington, which is part of the West London CCG area. Queen's Park & Paddington patients will continue to have access to a similar service, for residents registered or resident in the West London CCG area, which has been available since last May. Read more 18 new Local Services available near you Blood pressure monitoring is one of the 18 services now available to all patients in a GP surgery In all five CCG areas that make up the CWHHE Collaborative, 18 extra services are now available to all patients in a convenient, community setting, such as a GP surgery or hub. This is part of our bold plan to make it easier than ever for patients to access a range of treatments and care packages, from blood tests and ECGs to wound care and some mental health services, without needing a hospital visit. Read more NHS Central London CCG stakeholder newsletter - March 2017 Delegated commissioning: next steps From 1 April, local doctors will be given greater control than ever before over how NHS services are commissioned in most parts of North West London. In February, the GP membership of six out of the eight North West London CCGs, including Central London, opted to take full control of their own budgets. By taking full responsibility for commissioning primary care services, rather than sharing this responsibility with NHS England, Central London CCG can make health policy decisions in response to changing local needs, and be wholly responsive to feedback from our patient population. As well as strengthening local accountability, reported benefits of delegated commissioning include increased access to primary care, tighter relationships with member practices, improved quality of care, and the opportunity to make primary care more sustainable. Read more App, app and away Where apps are piloted, patients report weight loss, improved nutrition, and increased exercise In partnership with Digital Health London, the NHS in North West London is working to NHS Central London CCG stakeholder newsletter - March 2017 provide digital apps to support residents to develop their self-management skills. Following a public event, the chosen app or apps will be piloted across North West London from March to August this year. Read more Transforming care for people with learning disabilities On 25 January, CCGs brought together more than 40 people to celebrate the successes of the Transforming Care Partnership and shape future services for people with learning disabilities. Another event will take place on March 29, to bring together wider stakeholders, focusing especially on social care. Read more New support for teams leading health and social care projects The North West London Change Academy is now open for teams to submit their ideas on how to improve health and social care The Change Academy is an innovative leadership programme, designed to bring together NHS Central London CCG stakeholder newsletter - March 2017 teams from across health and social care at all levels in North West London. It has been created to support people who are leading or are interested in leading changes designed to embed integrated health and social care which align with our STP priorities. We are particularly interested in attracting multi-disciplinary teams who are working across current organisational boundaries. Read more Young Adults JSNA A JSNA has been completed to assess the key health and wellbeing needs of young adults age 18-25 in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. While health and social care service provision has often focussed on children, older people and the very unwell, there is an emerging consensus that the needs of young adults are not always fully understood or being met. Read more North West London Medical Centre to close The North West London Medical Centre, 56 Maida Vale, London W9 1PP is to close on 31 March 2017 following the retirement of Dr Dexter. All practice patients will therefore need to register with another practice, ideally by 31 March 2017, so that they can access a GP as and when they need to.
