DERBY BOROUGH TRANSPORT HISTORICAL FLEET LIST This list is not complete - Please email any additions or corrections to this list - thanks! Some notes on Derby's fleet numbering may be helpful. The prewar motorbus series reached 73, and the first wartime utility bus (a solitary Bristol K) took the fleet number 74. The series then reverted to 1, with 1-21 being Daimler and Guy utilities. By 1949, however, the new series was 'catching up' with the earlier prewar numbers, hence the jump from 41 to 75 to avoid duplication. This series then continued right up to 315, delivered in 1981; lowheight double deckers and coaches were numbered in separate series, as were the four Daimlers acquired secondhand from Halifax. A new series for new-generation double deckers was begun in 1978 by Foden NC number 101. Trolleybuses followed on from the tram series, with the first one (79) arriving in 1932; the series then continued unbroken to 243 of 1960. The motorbus series nearly caught up with the trolleybus numbers in 1966, but the complete withdrawal of trolleybus services in 1967 eliminated this problem. Trolleybuses F/No Reg. Rules of the Library of the P.S.V. Circle
RULES OF THE LIBRARY OF THE P.S.V. CIRCLE Information The P.S.V. Circle Library has available for loan P.S.V. Circle publications which are no longer on sale. Such publications include old news sheets, fleet histories, fleet listings and also some Ian Allan publications. A deposit of £10 will be required from any member who wishes to borrow publication(s). This is refundable when publications are returned in good condition, subject to the rules below. The deposit may be retained by the Circle to cover anticipated future loans. RULES 1) Any member of the P.S.V. Circle may use the library provided that his membership subscription is not in arrear and that he has not been excluded by operation of rule 9. 2) The total number of publications which may be borrowed at any one time is four. 3) Members must quote their Circle membership number in all correspondence. 4) A deposit of £10 will be required. This sum may be forwarded by cheque or postal order payable to 'The P.S.V. Circle'. The deposit shall be £10 irrespective of the number of publications borrowed at any one time. 5) All borrowed publications shall be returned to the issuing librarian no later than one month of despatch to the member at the time of borrowing. 6) The library stock is kept by the Librarian and several Assistant Librarians. Requests may be made to borrow from multiple librarians. The initial request must be made to the Circle Librarian. 7) Members shall not mark Library stock in any way and shall be held responsible for returning publications to the Issuing Librarian in the same condition as received by them. -
Reinohl Collection Album List
Reinohl Collection album list The Reinohl Collection consists of 180 albums compiled by two brothers, Herbert and Albert Reinohl. The brothers were born in the late nineteenth century and began collecting material about transport (buses in particular) from childhood, continuing through to the 1950s. The collection is principally made up of tickets, but it also includes illustrations, press cuttings, journal articles and other ephemera from the UK and around the world. The list below gives brief details of what is covered by each album. If you would like to enquire about specific contents in the albums please contact us. The collection forms part of the Library collection at London Transport Museum (LTM) and is stored at the Museum Depot at Acton. CR/25/09 Completed acquisition by Glendale Transport Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stagecoach plc, of the assets and business operating out of Birkenhead, Chester and Wrexham depots of Firstgroup plc PARTIES 1. Stagecoach Group (Stagecoach) operates commercial and tendered bus and coach services from depots across the UK. Glenvale Transport Limited (Glenvale) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stagecoach. Glenvale forms part of the Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire operating unit (SMSL) operating commercial and tendered bus and coach services in and around Merseyside and South Lancashire. Stagecoach’s turnover for the financial year to 30 April 2012 was £2.5 billion (excluding acquisitions). The SMSL’s turnover for the year ended 30 April 2012 was £[] million. 2. FirstGroup plc (First) operates commercial and tendered bus and coach services from depots across the UK including services operated from Birkenhead, Chester and Wrexham depots (the depots) through wholly owned subsidiaries: First Manchester Ltd; Chester City Transport Ltd; and First Potteries Ltd. First’s turnover for the financial year ended 31 March 2012 was £6.6 billion. The relevant turnover of the business and assets transferred for the year ended 31 March 2012 was £[] million.1 TRANSACTION 3. Following a competitive tender carried out by First, Stagecoach acquired the business and assets operating out of the depots on 13 January 2013 (the Transaction). The business and assets (the transferred business) comprise, amongst other things, the following: two depots in Birkenhead and Chester; a leased out-station in Wrexham; 110 vehicles, and 290 employees. The OFT notes that First operated only tendered services, such as school services, out of the Wrexham depot. -

2021 Book News Welcome to our 2021 Book News. As we come towards the end of a very strange year we hope that you’ve managed to get this far relatively unscathed. It’s been a very challenging time for us all and we’re just relieved that, so far, we’re mostly all in one piece. While we were closed over lockdown, Mark took on the challenge of digitalising some of Venture’s back catalogue producing over 20 downloadable books of some of our most popular titles. Thanks to the kind donations of our customers we managed to raise over £3000 for The Christie which was then matched pound for pound by a very good friend taking the total to almost £7000. There is still time to donate and download these books, just click on the downloads page on our website for the full list. We’re still operating with reduced numbers in the building at any one time. We’ve re-organised our schedules for packers and office staff to enable us to get orders out as fast as we can, but we’re also relying on carriers and suppliers. Many of the publishers whose titles we stock are small societies or one-man operations so please be aware of the longer lead times when placing orders for Christmas presents. The last posting dates for Christmas are listed on page 63 along with all the updates in light of the current Covid situation and also the impending Brexit deadline. In particular, please note the change to our order and payment processing which was introduced on 1st July 2020. -
