V765/1 List of Vehicle Owners Clubs N.B. The information contained in this booklet was correct at the time of going to print. The most up to date version is available on the internet website: www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/old-vehicles 8/21 V765 scheme How to register your vehicle under its original registration number: a. Applications must be submitted on form V765 and signed by the keeper of the vehicle agreeing to the terms and conditions of the V765 scheme. A V55/5 should also be filled in and a recent photograph of the vehicle confirming it as a complete entity must be included. A FEE IS NOT APPLICABLE as the vehicle is being re-registered and is not applying for first registration. b. The application must have a V765 form signed, stamped and approved by the relevant vehicle owners/enthusiasts club (for their make/type), shown on the ‘List of Vehicle Owners Clubs’ (V765/1). The club may charge a fee to process the application. c. Evidence MUST be presented with the application to link the registration number to the vehicle. Acceptable forms of evidence include:- • The original old style logbook (RF60/VE60). • Archive/Library records displaying the registration number and the chassis number authorised by the archivist clearly defining where the material was taken from. • Other pre 1983 documentary evidence linking the chassis and the registration number to the vehicle. If successful, this registration number will be allocated on a non-transferable basis. How to tax the vehicle If your application is successful, on receipt of your V5C you should apply to tax at the Post Office® in the usual way. -

Spring Meeting – May 9th 2010 The Society meeting next year will take place on Sunday 9th May 2010 between 2pm and 5pm at the Hilton Hotel, ground floor meeting room, right next to The London International Stamp Fair - Festival of Stamps, being held at the Islington Business Design Centre, the home of Stampex. A map is shown opposite.. SECRETARY/TREASURER The Society recently advertised in all the UK stamp magazines which has resulted in many new members, and reminded the philatelic world that we are still here. The Society accounts are published and I have attempted to make income and expenditure much clearer than before. Our Society remains financially healthy and I can see no reason for any increase in subscription. The decision by Jeff Turnbull to take over the printing of Society publications himself has proved successful and is now in profit, thank you Jeff. Our Internet PayPal account has been very successful and is being used by members worldwide, even including those in the UK! With Christmas & the New Year approaching may I take this opportunity to wish everyone the best, a big thank you to my fellow officers for the very many hours you devote to the Society, and of course the members who support us. -

Reinohl Collection album list The Reinohl Collection consists of 180 albums compiled by two brothers, Herbert and Albert Reinohl. The brothers were born in the late nineteenth century and began collecting material about transport (buses in particular) from childhood, continuing through to the 1950s. The collection is principally made up of tickets, but it also includes illustrations, press cuttings, journal articles and other ephemera from the UK and around the world. The list below gives brief details of what is covered by each album. If you would like to enquire about specific contents in the albums please contact us. The collection forms part of the Library collection at London Transport Museum (LTM) and is stored at the Museum Depot at Acton. There are strong reasons for thinking that the subject of mechanical propulsion upon common roads has now reached a point when it deserves the very careful consideration of mechanical engineers. The idea of bringing the matter generally before the Institution for discussion is due to our President, whose far-reaching judgment will be admitted by all. The title of this Paper must be admitted to be very comprehensive, but it seems that what is ueeded at this time is a discussion of the general principles of the engineering features of the question, rather than a detailed description of any particular system. For many years the uses and importance of the traction engine have become more and more recognised, and its possibilities in connection with the present war have quite recently been brought very strongly before the public. This engine, the work of which covers only a portion of the field for mechanical propulsion on roads, has been very fully dealt with before this Institution and elsewhere, and it will be in the first place instructive to consider what has led to a general revival of a movement for lighter road-locomotives which about seventy years ago, in the days of Hancock and Gurney, reached a point that for a time appeared to be leading to permanent results of the most important kind, but which ended in complete failure.
