Road Map Building Technologies & Solutions Training Facility Manchester Building Technologies & Solutions Training Facility Manchester – United Kingdom Road Map General Welcome to the training centre at Tyco Security Products EMEA in Manchester. This document contains important information and advice for those attending a training course with us. The training centre has a modern, well-equipped and air-conditioned room. This allows training for 8 delegates, depending on the course. Two delegates share one workstation with the necessary training equipment All delivered training courses in Manchester are part of the EMEA training schedule. Page 2 Road Map Our Manchester facility is only 2 miles (5km) from Manchester City Centre .It is 10 miles (24km) from Manchester International Airport. Which has direct road and rail links to Manchester City Centre and the main Rail station Piccadilly ,which is again about 2 miles (5km) from our office. From October 2011 the Metro will bring visitors to within walking distance of the office directly from the Airport, Railway Station or City Centre. It is also well connected by the motorway network. • From north : Use the M6 motorway leave at Junction 30 and join the M61 motorway then join the M60 ring road (N and E) towards Bury and Leeds leave the M60 at junction 21 follow signs for the A663 Manchester city centre at traffic lights turn right A663 at traffic lights turn right onto the A62 Manchester city centre,Tyco is on the right after approx 2.5miles. • From East Use the M62 motorway towards Manchester leave the M62 at junction 20 follow signs for A627(M) towards Oldham leave at junction 1 ,A663 at traffic lights turn right A62 Manchester ,Tyco is on the right after approx 2.5 miles • From Manchester Airport: Use the M56 motorway towards Manchester (keep in left hand lane) follow signs for M60 Stockport leave the M60 at junction 22 turn left onto A62 Tyco is on the left after approx 4 miles • From South Use M6 motorway leave M6 at junction 19 follow signs for A556 Manchester join M56 motorway then M60 Stockport leave M60 at junction 22 turn left onto A62 Tyco is on left after approx 4 miles. Page 3 Parking: Please note you must park your car in the Training facilities car park Tyco have two buildings one on each side of Grimshaw Lane we are in the low building on the left as you turn off the A62. You must sign in and out of the building at the start and end of each day there is a book in reception for this purpose. As a busy route between Walsall and Wolverhampton, the junction is often heavily congested and this reduces the attractiveness of the local area for business and investment, including within the nearby Black Country Enterprise Zone. Walsall Council and Highways England are developing plans to provide a long term improvement to M6 Junction 10. The non-statutory public consultation events held in December 2015 presented the current scheme options and sought comments and feedback to inform the final decision and help shape the design. 1.1 Main objectives of the scheme There are three main objectives of the M6J10 scheme. The first objective is to reduce congestion. By improving M6J10, congestion can be reduced on the A454 Black Country Route eastbound to improve journey time reliability. This is critical to the needs of local residents, businesses and the 120 hectares of developable land within the nearby Black Country Enterprise Zone. Congestion can be reduced on other roads linking to the junction, such as A454 Wolverhampton Road, B4464 Wolverhampton Road West and Bloxwich Lane, reducing ‘rat-running’ traffic on nearby routes parallel to the A454 Black Country Route, the A454 Wolverhampton Road and the B4464 Wolverhampton Road West.
