Do not get me wrong, I like seasons, but I only like the three that do not include massive amounts of snow. I understand the desire to move south for the winter. A few years ago, I made a trip to Miami/Boca/Naples to have lunch and coffee with congregants down in Rabbi Fine and Synagogue Treasurer Florida. It was a wonderful and meaningful trip. Do you spend it out in nature? Do you spend it with family? Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to spend Shabbat in a multitude of different places. I have spent Shabbat at USY conventions in Philly, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, California, Florida and many other places in hotels and camp grounds alike. I have spent over 50 Shabbatot at camps in the summer, many at home with my family when I was younger, and now with our family here in Minnesota. I have spent Shabbat in Jerusalem, Venice and other European cities, and I have spent Shabbat in Aruba.
