C O M M U N I T A T E V A L E M U S 1 ( G e r m a n / N e t h e r l a n d s ) C o r p s CURRICULUM VITAE Brigadier General Dieter Meyerhoff Chief of Staff 1 (German/Netherlands) Corps Brigadier General Meyerhoff was born on 19 March 1960 in Soltau. In 1979, he was drafted and served as a conscript in 7th Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion in Augustdorf. In the same year he decided to pursue a career as an officer and started the two year officer’s training at 11th Armoured Reconnaissance Demonstration Battalion in Munster. From 1981 to 1984 he studied educational science at the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg. He served as a platoon Commander in 3rd Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion in Lüneburg from 1985 to 1988, followed by two assignments as commander of 5th and 4th Coy in this battalion. Subsequently, he completed the 35th Army General Staff Officers Course at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg. Between 1994 and 1997 Major Meyerhoff served as Assistant Section Chief at the Army Staff of the Federal Ministry of Defence in Bonn. From 1997 to 1998 he attended the first International General Staff Officers Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in Bracknell/ United Kingdom. Subsequently, he was transferred to the HQ 4 (DEU) Corps in Potsdam as Senior Operations Officer in the G1 and G2 Division. From November 1999 to April 2000 he was deployed as G3 JIC to HQ KFOR. From 2000 to 2002 he was commander of the 13th Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion in Gotha. During this time he was deployed to Macedonia as Military Assistant to the Commander Task Force Fox from October 2001 to December 2001. From 2002 to 2004 he was posted to the Bundeswehr Personnel Office in Cologne as Senior Personnel Officer for German general staff officers. An assignment as chief of the Army Combat Development Branch at the Army Office in Cologne followed before he was again transferred to the Federal Ministry of Defence in Bonn as Chief of the Personnel Branch at the Armed Forces Staff in 2006. From 2009 to 2014 he served as Chief of Staff at the Federal Armed Forces Office in Bonn. After a short stint as Branch Chief at the Army Concept & Capabilities Development Centre in Cologne he was transferred to 1 (German/Netherlands) Corps. In September 2014, he became the Deputy Chief of Staff Operations and Training of 1 (German/Netherlands) Corps. As of March 2016 Brigadier General Meyerhoff holds the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE position of Chief of Staff.
