Purple-colored line from an 'old-style' plastic jacket cover at base of rear panel) Doolittle was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for leading his daring raid on Tokyo early in the Americn involvement in the Second World War. Laid-into the book are an interesting assortment of items, including a cover for The Smithsonian's 45th Anniversary of Doolittle's "First All Blind Flight" in their Milestones of Flight series. Also, a printed remembrance card for the passing of Doolittle's wife Josephine & an envelope containing a Holiday card SIGNED "Jim" over the printed names of his wife & himself, with photos of his children & grand kids, including the negatives in a small packet. There are also 2 black & white photo postcards of Doolittle. $450.00
