How to make Oat Bran Banana Muffins Recipe Ingredients for Oat Bran Banana Muffins Recipe Preparation Time : 15 mins Cooking Time : 15 mins Serves: 7 • 1 Cup of Oat Bran, Uncooked • 2 Tbsp of Brown Sugar • 1 Tsp of Baking Powder • 1/4 Tsp of Salt • 1/2 Cup of Milk • 2 Tsp of Flax Seed Powder • 1 Big Banana, mashed • 2 Tbsp of Honey • 1/2 Cup of Rasins • Few Cashews Method for Oat Bran Banana Muffins Recipe • In a bowl, combine dry ingredients, mix well. • Add milk, honey, mashed banana and oil, mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. • Add raisins, mix well combined. • Meanwhile, heat oven to 425 º F. • Pour the muffin batter to 3/4 of the muffin cups. • Bake for 15-17 mins or until golden brown. Open the lid, add salt, pepper and dry methi leaves. Turn off the flame. • Finally add ricotta cheese and cilantro, mix well. • Toast the bread with some butter. • Assemble the sandwich by placing ricotta cheese stuffing, add raw onion, on one bread. Place the other bread on top. Gently press both the bread together. • Slice the sandwich diagonally to create finger sandwich. • Yummy, healthy ricotta cheese peas sandwich is ready to serve with soup or fruit juice. Tips • You can have mayonnaise or any cheese or any dressing in your sandwich. • If you have lettuce, use that in your sandwich. • Add any veggies of your choice like mushroom. • Add ghee in place of butter. • Substitute paneer in place of ricotta cheese. The batter should not be watery or thick. Add salt and mix well with hand. Leave it for 4 hrs or use it immediately your wish. • Heat a dosa pan or griddle, pour a ladleful of dosa batter and spread it like dosa. Drizzle a tsp of oil over dosa or in sides. Corresponding author: [email protected] Paper No. 86 Received: 20 October 2014 Accepted: 20 July 2015 Abstract To determine the sensory quality of the developed product and the nutritive value of different food products made by the incorporation of fresh faba bean pods at different levels. Food product were prepared from, “Rava Upma” and “Dal Vada” by incorporation of fresh faba bean pods mix at the level of 20%, 30% and 40% as treatments T1, T2 and T3 respectively. T0, without incorporation of fresh faba bean pods served as control. The replicated three times for all two food products and data obtained investigation were statistically analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and critical difference (CD) techniques. Sensory evaluation was carried out by using nine point Hedonic scale. Chemical analysis was carried out by the standard procedure of AOAC (2005). On the basis of findings, it was observed that in case of “Rava Upma” 30% incorporation level (T2) was adjudged as the best with regard to color, body and texture, taste and flavour and overall acceptability. In case of “Dal Vada” 40% incorporation level (T3) adjuged the best with respect to color, body and texture, taste and flavour and overall acceptability.

Ingredients 3/4 Cup of Urad Dal (White) 1 and 1/4 Cup of Palm Jaggery 1/4 Cup of Gingelly Oil Pinch of Salt 1/2 Cup of water or as needed Method Grate the palm jaggery and keep it aside. Dry roast the urad dal lightly, let it cool for sometime. In a pan, heat the water, after it boils, add the palm jaggery , let it be in the flame until jaggery melts and stir it occasionally. Once it done, turn off the flame Powdered the urad dal finely or rava consistency using mixie or spice grinder. Using tea strainer, strain the jaggery syrup to get rid of impurities. In a medium flame, add the Jaggery syrup to the same pan, add a pinch of salt, bring it to a boil, add urad dal powder little by little and stir well to avoid lumps. Add oil little by little and keep on stirring until the mixture leaves the sides of a pan. Serve hot or cold with a tsp of ghee. Make a small balls, in the center, add a tsp of ghee.

Address for Correspondence: [email protected] ABSTRACT The pre-colonial Malabar was an all-encompassing geographical area that covered the entire south Indian coast sprawling between the Western Ghats and Arabian Sea, with its capital at Kozhikkode. When India was linguistically divided and Kerala was formed in 1956, the Malabar district was geographically divided further for easy administration. The modern day Malabar, comprises of Kozhikkode, Malappuram and few taluks of Kasarkod, Kannur, Wayanad, Palakkad and Thrissur. The Malappuram and Kozhikkod region is predominantly inhabited by Muslims, colloquially called as the Mappilas. The term 'Malabar' is said to have etymologically derived from the Malayalam word 'Malavaram', denoting the location by the side of the hill. The cuisine of Malabar, which is generally believed to be authentic, is in fact, a product of history and a blend of cuisines from all over the world. Delicacies from all over the world blended with the authentic recipes of Malabar, customizing itself to the local and seasonal availability of raw materials in the Malabar Coast. Community Science, PJTSAU, 2Scientist, KVK Palem, Nagar Kurnool ARTICLE: 028 The Nutritional requirement of children (2-6 years) increases as there is increased activity and growth when compared to earlier life. To meet these requirements nutritious recipes which are of low cost are to be prepared. The ingredients used in the recipes should be locally available so that all the socio- economic groups can easily prepare. Ragi Puttu is one of the low cost recipe made in India with Ragi flour, jaggery and Green gram flour. Literature Review Eleusine coracana is the scientific name of Ragi or Finger millet. In India it is also known Mandua, Kelvaragu, Ragulu, Nachni, Bavto, Mandhal, etc. Nutritionally, finger millet is good source of nutrients especially of calcium, other minerals and fiber. Total carbohydrate content of finger millet has been reported to be in the range of 72 to 79.5% (Bhatt et al., 2003). It is highly nutritious, and versatile, and can be cooked like rice, ground to make porridge or flour. The fiber content in Ragi helps to solve many gastrointestinal problems such as Constipation, Intestinal gas and flatulence and abdominal distention.
