In April a part of the diocese was removed to form a new diocese, the Kollam-Kottarakkara Diocese. In the diocese had South India and Kerala pastors, 49 retired pastors and more than church workers. As missionary work was already started in Tranquebar, a Danish colony, Ringeltaube travelling in a Danish ship arrived at Tranquebar, invited by Vedamanikan Maharasan the first convert from this region. It was with great difficulty and largely through the intervention of the British Resident in Travancore, Colin Macaulay, that Ringeltaube obtained permission to construct a Church at Mylaudy. Karimeen Pearlspot fry is popular even among South India and Kerala. They also make many different pradhamans kheer varieties. Banana plant is a common sight throughout Kerala. Banana leaf is used to serve the meal in hotels, for special occasion and even in homes. Corresponding author: [email protected] Paper No. 86 Received: 20 October 2014 Accepted: 20 July 2015 Abstract To determine the sensory quality of the developed product and the nutritive value of different food products made by the incorporation of fresh faba bean pods at different levels. Food product were prepared from, “Rava Upma” and “Dal Vada” by incorporation of fresh faba bean pods mix at the level of 20%, 30% and 40% as treatments T1, T2 and T3 respectively. T0, without incorporation of fresh faba bean pods served as control. The replicated three times for all two food products and data obtained investigation were statistically analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and critical difference (CD) techniques. Sensory evaluation was carried out by using nine point Hedonic scale. Chemical analysis was carried out by the standard procedure of AOAC (2005). On the basis of findings, it was observed that in case of “Rava Upma” 30% incorporation level (T2) was adjudged as the best with regard to color, body and texture, taste and flavour and overall acceptability. In case of “Dal Vada” 40% incorporation level (T3) adjuged the best with respect to color, body and texture, taste and flavour and overall acceptability.

    Theological Education and Participation in Global Mission Israel Selvanayagam An Affirmation Let me start with a basic affirmation: whatever may be the side effects the primary purpose of theological education is creative and relevant participation in mission in all its dimensions. I am tempted to revise the starting lines of St Paul’s famous poem on love (1 Cor. 13). Accordingly, I may read and speak classical languages, but if I do not have a passionate commitment to mission, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. I may have the gift of textual analysis and hermeneutics and the knowledge of every philosophical truth; I may have more than one postgraduate degree in Theology; but if I have no inner urge to share the love of God in Christ with others, I am nothing. I may give all I possess to the needy, I may give my body to be burnt in struggles for justice and liberation, but if I have no regard for the salvation of the whole humanity and creation, I gain nothing by it. If this revision sends any clear signals, then we need to revise traditional understandings of theology and theological education. I don’t claim like Thomas Aquinas that ‘Theology is taught by God, teaches of God, and leads to God’. Theology is human talk or reasoning about God: not in the sense of ‘search after reality’ but that of ‘response to the historic reality of revelation’. Nor can I accept Anselm’s definition of theology as ‘faith seeking understanding’, because our two millennia of ‘seeking’ in this regard have not led us to a more clear understanding.

M ADDOX Recent years have witnessed epochal and unforeseeable changes in the politi- cal situation of the Northern hemisphere- the reunification of Germany, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the fracturing of former Soviet satellites, and broad-scale rejection of nationalist communism. It is sometimes S'llggested that these changes totally discredit what has come to be ca lled Liberation Theology. But while they do raise serious questions about some of the specific solutions proposed by certain liberation theologians, they have hardly eliminated the problems that spawned liberation theology in the first place. Indeed , there appears to be a widening gap at present between rich and poor in several nations, between developed (or overdeveloped! ) nations and the developing nations, and between the culturally elite and the culturally marginalized. For those of us in the Wesleyan theological traditions this situation sounds strangely reminiscent of the social context within which the original Methodist revival arose. Thus, there is good reason for asking whether there are resources in our tradition for relating the Good News of God's salvific love to this critical dimension of our current situation.' Other studies have focused attention on some of the characteristic Wesleyan convictions and practices that are very rele- vant to this issue. 2 The topic that I want to direct attention to deals not with such "content" of a Wesleyan theology, but with its method. As liberation theologies found their voices among the world's poor and mar- ginalized, their early questions often focused on specific doctrinal claims of the dominant Christian theological traditions.

    1 2 3 My dear friends, It is a joy for me to connect with you through this letter. It is an opportunity to strengthen our relationship and review our ministry. Our Lord who called us all to work in His vineyard is always true, enabling us to see His promise being fulfilled in our lives. By His immense grace we have completed nine months in this year, and are entering into the tenth month. The Lord Jehovah is the Alpha and Omega; He is the beginning and the end. He is the God of the past, the present and also the future. He is the Lord of all ages. So let us fix our eyes on Him, hold His strong hand, and keep running our race on this earth with faith and perseverance. To quote Warren Wiersbe, ‘the future is our friend when Jesus is our Lord’. Here is some spiritual insight from the Bible to apply in our lives this month in particular. Let’s focus on King Solomon, based on II Chronicles 7:11-22. Once the Lord appeared to King Solomon in the night and told him that always His ears would be opened to the prayers of the people, and His eyes and heart would be always there to forgive their sins and bless them. He expressed only one condition – that is, the king and his people should walk before the Lord, faithfully obey all His commandments and observe His laws. After that, King Solomon followed everything according to God’s law. This pleased God and He blessed him more and more.
