The Belcar Endurance Champi- onship had last minute calendar changes and can- celations. But we still had 6 races at a very high le- vel and saw great battles on track. In addition to the friendly atmosphere in the paddock and the ex- cellent communication with the organisers, there are two things I re- member vividly from the 2020 season: on one side, it was incredible to see how the team has come together and became such a closely knit unit - despite all the corona-induced difficulties; that was incre- dible! On the other hand, the interaction on track was extremely fair and professional, whether it’s with direct competitors in the same class or other participants on the grid.     Armiku i klimës në modë Nga Gjergj Nika Qershor 2020 Nuk e di sa është i vërtetë lajmi i mediave online, që Australia do të vrasë 10.000 deve me arsyen se qenkan një rrezik për mjedisin, sepse pijnë shumë ujë. Po e marrim si të vërtetë. Përpara se të vrasin këto kafshë të gjora nën pretekstin për të zgjidhur problemet klimatike, le të ndalojnë ose të pakësojnë garat motorrike si Formula 1, të cilat në një garë të një dite të vetme, emetojnë më shumë gaz karbonik sesa emetojnë devetë gjatë gjithë vitit. Le të analizojmë problemet e shumta për mjedisin dhe klimën që sjellin garat motorrike, duke marrë si shembull Formula 1, që është më ndotësi nga garat motorrike dhe të shohim se sa e dëmton natyrën. Një nga problemet e shumta për mjedisin dhe klimën, që vjen si pasojë e garave të Formula 1 është çlirimi i dioksidit të karbonit nga djegia e karburantit për një garë, e cila nuk sjell asnjë të mirë materiale për njerëzit. Kjo djegie karburanti nuk është e domosdoshme si ajo e traktorit, që punon tokën për ta mbjellur, apo e autobusit, që transporton pasagjerë nevojtarë nga një vend në një tjetër. Sipas Uikipedias një makinë e zakonshme e garës Formula 1 djeg 75 litra karburant për 100 km të përshkuara. Pra 0.75 litra karburant të djegur, lëshojnë rreth 1737 gram dioksid karboni për një kilometër, sasi kjo që është pothuajse nëntë herë më shumë se sasia e dioksidit të karbonit që lëshojnë makinat normale. 1 Dhe gjatë një sezoni garash, ku përdoren afërsisht 100,000 litra karburant, i takon të prodhohet 231 ton dioksid karboni për çdo makinë.

    RACING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE A REVIEW OF THE SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE OF INTERNATIONAL RACING CIRCUITS Edition June 2021 Racing towards a sustainable future FOREWORD I have been involved with the safety and sustainability of racing tracks for many years now, as a driver, GPDA Chairman and a circuit designer. And while I would argue that big improvements have been made in terms of safety, I also know that there is a long way to go in terms of fully embracing sustainability for racing tracks around the globe. Though circuits have started to change the way in which they approach sustainability, more guidance on what sustainability means and how a circuit can be sustainable are needed. This is why I welcome this new research and the data-driven proposal of the Sustainable Circuits Index™, highlighting indicators from the wider sustainability and sport ecosystem, encouraging best practice and calling attention to the importance of transparent reporting and independent validation. Motorsport has historically been defined by its commitment to innovation and excellence through competition. It’s now critically important for our sport to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through collaboration. This paper highlights the new metrics for success in this global effort and provides circuits with the tools they need to help win the race for our planet, a race which we can only win together. Vitesse! Page 3 Foreword Motorsport essentially consists of three ingredients. First, you need a motor vehicle - which can be anything from a Formula 1 car to a lawn mower, or from a MotoGP motorcycle to a pocket bike. Second, you need a driver or rider to operate the vehicle, and finally, a place to go racing - a circuit. To most people this last ingredient is probably the least interesting. The number of books about famous racing drivers and cars, or great riders and their motorcycles, is far larger than the number of books about racing circuits. However, to me circuits are the most interesting aspect of motorsport, for two main reasons. First is their great diversity: in terms of shape, layout, length, difficulty, fame and many other factors, every circuit is different, and each has its own story to tell. Second, it is fascinating to see just how many circuits there are. Once you start looking, you can find them just about any- where. Finding lost circuits or discovering long-forgotten tracks is one of the most fun aspects of researching racing circuits. When looking for information about racing circuits online, I often found it frustrating that the available sources were not complete, and that they often lacked detail and accuracy. This is one of the reasons why I started my website www.wegcircuits.nl and why I made Rennen! Races! Vitesse! - a downloadable pdf-file that lists racing circuits of past and present in four European countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria.

    Norma Driver Trophy Benelux – Round 5: Circuit Zolder Luc De Cock, Tim Joosen and Tim Verbergt triumph in heroic conditions! • Victory for Luc De Cock, Tim Joosen and Tim Verbergt in memorable rain soaked race • Silver medal for Frédéric Bouvy and Damien Coens in debut with the Norma M20 FC • Bert Longin retains narrow lead in Norma Driver Trophy HEUSDEN-ZOLDER – At the wheel of their Deldiche Racing Norma M20 FC Luc De Cock, Tim Joosen and Tim Verbergt claimed victory in the penultimate round of the Norma Driver Trophy Benelux. In a 125 minutes race held at Circuit Zolder, under hellish conditions, they narrowly held off Frédéric Bouvy and Damien Coens, who were competing in their first-ever race with a Norma. Points leader Bert Longin teamed up with 24 Hours of Zolder winner Christoff Corten completed the podium. Even before the start of the competition we lost one of the potential candidates for victory. The Russell Racing by PK Carsport Norma which Jeffrey Van Hooydonk shares with Gilles Magnus and Hans Thiers had to throw in the towel due to a defective engine. Once the season’s last race in Belgium was flagged off the rain took a leading role. In the opening stage, and on a rain drenched track, the T2 Racing machine manned by Stephan Brintzinger and Philipp Schlegel crashed, whereupon Luc De Cock promptly decided to call into the pits to hand over the wheel to Tim Verbergt. A tactically good move, although the wet conditions played tricks on the CN Prototypes in the rest of the race.
