Typical Day at Rec The morning starts with drop off by parents/guardians at 8:30am. As parents arrive, the upper staff opens car doors and directs children to their groups. Drop off commences at 8:45am at which point each grade travels to their predetermined first station. Every 55 minutes the program director blows an air horn and the grades travel to their next station activity. At 11:45am all participants travel to their designated shaded lunch spots and enjoy lunch. At the end of lunch grades are provided with the opportunity to head to the Recreation Office to purchase Italian Ices using their pre purchased “pizza cards” (punch cards). On Thursdays, children are given the opportunity to purchase Pizza using their pizza cards (we cannot accept cash from the kids). After lunch, grades continue their normal schedule of rotating stations. At 2:25pm all children proceed to the drop off/ pick up area, to be picked up by their parents/guardians. Parents’ cars, with their last name posted on their windshield, cycle through the parking lot and upper staff load the children into their vehicles. At the end of pick up the remaining children registered for ACE are escorted to the After Care Extension area and head back to the Middle School Gym or walk along the trail connecting the Middle School and High School with the staff to the High School (depending on the session) for late pick up. The staffs then proceeds to the Arts and Crafts area for a daily debrief. *Teen Extreme (grades 5th-8th) will be based out of the Middle School gymnasium and Little Rec (ages 3-5) will be on site and rotating stations throughout the Middle School as well. With this there will be opportunities for age appropriate interaction (for example sports tournaments, talent shows, etc).

Typical Day at Little Rec Little Rec will follow the typical Rec Day just at a smaller age appropriate pace. Little Rec will travel to stations throughout the day just like Rec. The major difference being Little Rec will have more indoor stations throughout the day for indoor games and activities. Little Rec families also have the option of registering for a full day or half day. The half day ends after lunch so even on a half day you should pack a lunch.

Special Days While many days are normal days there are instances when participants are provided with a special day such as our First Day, Rain Days, Party Day and Field Trips.

First Day- On the first day of each session during drop off, the upper staff greets children at their car doors and escorts children directly to their group. After drop off the Program Directors address the entire group and introduces all staff.

Rain Day- Little Rec and Rec grades K-1st will have games and Arts and Crafts, grades 2nd-4th will watch a movie, and grades 5th-6th will play gym games. Every 1 hour the grades will switch until the end of the day. We will have access to an additional classroom on rainy days. *Teen Extreme if on site will travel with grades 5th & 6th

Field Trip Fridays (Rec Only)- In each session we will attend a field trip on Fridays. Please see attached schedule for specific field trips (field trips are subject to change). On the Field Trips all participants are required to wear a program shirt or a Hanover shirt. Little Rec will have “Inflatable Fridays” with a bounce house on location instead of “Field Trip Fridays”. Please click here for the Rec Schedule and Little Rec Schedule *schedule subject to change. Program Wide Wednesday activities will be after lunch (Half Day Little Rec will most likely already have left before the program wide activity begins).

What to Pack? - Pack multiple waters, we take water breaks in between every station. Pack a snack and lunch in a cooler. Pack sunscreen if you feel your child(ren) will need to reapply (we cannot put sunscreen on participants, but can help them by telling them where they need to blend their sunscreen in more for example). Children can leave their coolers and backpacks at their lunch station all day so they will not have to carry it from station to station, however they are encouraged to have a water with them that travels station to station.
