Stranda er kjend for matproduksjon og møbelindustri, i tillegg til turisme både sommar og vinter. Den største vinterattraksjonen er fantastisk skikøyring med dei rå tindane og den mektige Storfjorden som bakgrunns-teppe. Stranda ligg like ved inngangen til UNESCO Verdsarvområdet Geirangerfjord. Fossar, fjord, fjell, og fråflytta fjellgardar som klorer seg fast i bratthenga, har gitt Geiranger- fjorden omdømet som verdas vakraste fjord. Strandafjellet med Stranda Skisenter og gondolen, ligg berre 6,5 kilometer frå Stranda sentrum.

Gondolen på Strandafjellet gjer det mogleg å oppleve det vakre fjordlandskapet og Sunnmørsalpane fra 1067 moh. Med utsikt over den mektige Storfjorden og fjordbygda Stranda, har gondolen blitt ein av Fjord Norges vakraste attraksjonar, både sommar og vinter. Omgjevnadane er perfekte for fjellvandring og toppturar, så vel som stisykling og frikøyring på sykkel. Eller kva med å berre sette seg ned og nyte både utsikt og deilig mat med lokale spesialiteter og råvarer på restauranten Paviljongen Roalden (1042 moh). Stranda Skisenter vart etablert allereie i 1957 av lokale entreprenørar. Mykje har skjedd sidan det, og 2009 markerte starten på ei ny epoke for skisenteret med ny stolheis, paviljongar med restaurant og muligheit til både sommar,- og vinterdrift. Gondolen, som tek deg opp mot Roaldshorn(1230 moh.) opna i februar 2012.

The gondola at Stranda Skiresort makes it possible to experience the beautiful fjordlandscape surrounding the Sunnmore Alps from 1067 masl. Overlooking Storfjorden and the fjord village Stranda, the gondola has become on of the the most beautiful attractions, winter and summer, in Fjord Norway. The surrounding area is perfect for hiking at all levels, as well as freeride biking. Or maybe you prefer just sitting down and enjoy the spectacular view and some local snack, lunch or dinner at our restaurant, The Pavillion Roalden(at 1042metres) Stranda Skiresort was established by local entrepreneurs in 1957, but a lot has happened since then. 2009 marked the start of a new era for the skiresort, with a new chairlift, Pavillions with restaurants and the possibility to rund both winter and summer. Med Roaldsgondolen tek vi deg bokstaveleg talt til nye høgder, og gjer fjellturen på Stranda og i Verdsarvområdet til ei oppleving som kan ta pusten frå dei aller fleste.
