The Schwaiger sisters (Doris and Stefanie) · Hansel and Montagnolli are the first men’s or women’s team from Austria to compete in a Klagenfurt semi-final. · Hansel and Montagnolli have an 8-7 match mark this season for three European tour events, including a fourth in June at the CEV event in Baden, Austria. · Prior to a guaranteed fourth in Klagenfurt this year, the best SWATCH FIVB World Tour finishes for Montagnolli (three times) and Hansel (once) were fifths. · Montagnolli and Sabine Swoboda qualified for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Days before the event, Swoboda was withdrawn from the Summer Games due to back problems by the Austrian Olympic Committee. · Montagnolli and Swoboda won a 2005 satellite event in Argentina. · Montagnolli is now one of 19 players to play in 100 or more FIVB events since the start of the women’s tour in 1992 as she is tied for eighth with 115 starts. · Nicknamed “Monti”, Montagnolli started playing Volleyball in 1992 and was a first division competitor in Austria in 1995. · Montagnolli was a member of the Austrian National team in 1996. She started as a middle blocker, but switched to an outside hitter when she got to the first division. She has been playing Beach Volleyball since 1995. · Montagnolli parents (Wolfgang and Barbara) competed in track and field with her father setting records as a high jumper and her mother an Austrian champion in the sprints. · Hansel placed third in a 2008 FIVB Challenger event with Chrisi Gschweidl in Chennai, India.
