Days before the event, Swoboda was withdrawn from the Summer Games due to back problems by the Austrian Olympic Committee. · Montagnolli and Swoboda won a 2005 satellite event in Argentina. · Montagnolli is now one of 19 players to play in 100 or more FIVB events since the start of the women’s tour in 1992 as she is tied for eighth with 115 starts. · Nicknamed “Monti”, Montagnolli started playing Volleyball in 1992 and was a first division competitor in Austria in 1995. · Montagnolli was a member of the Austrian National team in 1996. She started as a middle blocker, but switched to an outside hitter when she got to the first division.
