Mules topped the day at £83 from Messrs A B Old & Son, Wadebridge. Hill Bred Ewes to £59. 356 Fat Lamb Larger entry saw a lot more leaner lambs on offer this week, which were harder to place. The well fleshed lambs much sought after. Top per kilo being 189p for a pen of 47kgs from Mrs P E Chidley, Downs View, Tresparrett, which was also top per head on the day at £89, 2 other vendors realised £88. STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER RICHARD DENNIS A smaller entry at Hallworthy with the local show at Launceston. A firm trade for those that attended with Mr T Trudgeon of Roche, realising £1150 for a single Aberdeen Angus Steer, he was closely followed by Messrs Blewett Partners of St Dennis, with a super run of well grown and fleshed Cattle topping out at £990 for a 2 year old Limousin Steer and a lovely bunch of 7 Friesian Steers to £860. Messrs W A & M G Northcott of St Genny, Bude saw their pair of 18 month Charolais x Steers away to £935. Cows and Fats A little easier trade with huge numbers still being sold for one reason or another, top call today was from Mr J Huntington of St Mawes, Truro with a younger South Devon x Cow to 107ppkilo and a second to 100ppkilo. Breeders This section was headed by Mrs Doreen Hassell of Lostwithiel, with her final clearance of North Devon Cattle, her top a Heifer with a Steer Calf at foot to £920.
