Over the past 18 months I have provided public vascular surgical services through my appointments as a consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and The Princess Alexandra Hospital. While my commitment to the public health service continues, I look forward to now also offering vascular surgical services to private patients through the Wesley and Greenslopes Hospitals. I am an Australian trained Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a graduate of the University of Queensland. My vascular surgical training encompassed all aspects of vascular surgery including both open and minimally invasive endovascular techniques. I have subspecialty interests in the minimally invasive treatment of aneurysmal and arterial occlusive disease. I gained extensive sub- specialist experience in advanced endovascular techniques while working at St Vincent’s and the Epworth Hospitals in Melbourne in 2012. I was also awarded the Sam Mellick Traveling Fellowship in Vascular Surgery, and in 2013 visited world-leading vascular surgical centres in both Groningen and London where I gained further knowledge in complex and emerging endovascular techniques. My practice encompasses the assessment and treatment of the full spectrum of vascular conditions including both arterial and venous pathology. During the course of the holidays there have still been many activities and opportunities for our community. IONA RETURNED TO RUGBY LEAGUE The Iona Rugby League Team competed successfully in the Confraternity Shield in Rockhampton at the PLAY YOUR ROLE beginning of July. The competition was friendly and intense with 48 teams from all over Queensland trying their very best in extremely close matches. I thank all of the boys, the staff, Mr Scott Thornton and Mr COMING EVENTS Chris McKenna for their participation. Next year’s tournament will be held in Brisbane.
