Bulleit Dinner at Snowbasin Resort

Snowbasin, UT – November 4th, 2014 – Snowbasin Resort’s second annual Whiskey Dinner at 6:00 pm on November 14th at Earl’s Lodge will feature hors d' oeuvres and a four-course dinner paired with Bulleit Bourbon whiskeys. This will be a unique chance to taste an array of Bulleit Bourbon whiskeys paired with opulent culinary creations and listen to Tom Bulleit, owner and creator of the modern recipe, describe his family's distillery process and lead a guided tasting of their whiskeys.

In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr. started the Bulleit Distilling Company, fulfilling a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe from his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high- whiskey between 1830 and 1860. The story of the Bulleit family recipe is intriguing: “A tavern keeper in 1830s Louisville, , Augustus Bulleit was dedicated to a single goal: the creation of a bourbon unique in flavor. After experimenting with countless varieties in small-batch trials, he finally came upon a bourbon with the character he had long sought after. One fateful day, while transporting his barrels of bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans, Augustus Bulleit vanished. What happened is still unknown, and his creation nearly disappeared into history along with him,” according to Bulleit family lore.

The pairing menu will include meatballs with chipotle peach BBQ sauce, Andoullie sausage-stuffed crimini mushrooms, cucumber cups filled with blue cheese mousse & candied pecans, a guided tasting of Bulleit Bourbon, Bulleit Rye, and Bulleit Bourbon 10 year, seared scallops with wasabi honey aioli, smoked duck breast with pickled currants & tarragon paired with a Ginger – Wasabi Rye Smash, wild mushroom & caramelized onion soup paired with a New York Sour, pork porterhouse with caramelized jalapeno hazelnut corn relish and goat cheese paired with a Spicy Kentucky Mule, bourbon whipped yams, an espresso & dark chocolate decadence with salted caramel ice cream paired with a Cocoa Rye Russian, and more.

The Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey Dinner is $65 per person and includes a four course meal paired with whiskeys. All guests must be age 21 or older with a valid ID. Reservations are required; please call (801) 620-1021.
