BACKGROUND State Government of Andhra Pradesh desired to develop Greenfield Airport at Dagadarthi (Dist. Nellore) in an extent of 1300 Acres approximately, Andhra Pradesh for commencing commercial operations of passengers and cargo aircraft. Accordingly, Andhra Pradesh Airport Development Corporation Limited (the “Authority”) is engaged in the development of Airport infrastructure and as part of its endeavour, the Authority has decided to undertake development of Greenfield Airport at Dagadarthi (the “Project”). Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP) (the “Transaction Advisor”), under the control of Department of Industries, Infrastructure, Investment & Commerce, GoAP, is the nodal agency to provide transaction advisory services for development of Greenfield Airports

    PPROJECT SSUMMARY NELLORE District is situated in the South Eastern portion of the Andhra Pradesh state with a costal length of 163 km bounded by Bay of Bengal on the East. It lies between 13-30’ and 15-6’ of the Northern Latitude and 70-5’ and 80-15’ of the Eastern Longitude and extending over an area of 3076 Sq. Kms, accounting for 4.75% of the total area of the state. It is bounded on the north by Prakasam District on the East by Bay of Bengal on the South by Chittoor District and Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu and on the West by Veligonda Hills which separate it from Kadapa District. Administratively the District is divided into 46 Mandals, covering three Revenue Divisions i.e. Nellore, Gudur and Kavali. There are three Municipalities namely Nellore, Gudur and Kavali and in addition there are two Census Towns i.e. Kovurpalli, Venkatagiri. During the period 1992-'97, Andhra Pradesh realised an estimated annual average fish production of 1.65 lakh tonnes of which nearly 37 % was accounted for by trawl catches. Though the contribution of trawler fish production at Krishnapatnam Port was less than 10 % of the total trawler catch of the state during the period, the present study is important, since the trawler landings at this centre sustains the livelihood of a large sector of local fishers besides the related industries.
