The Region has been making rapid, inclusive and sustained gains around the flagship programmes that Dr Khetrapal Singh identified along with Member States, at the start of her first term in 2014. The regional flagship programmes are in sync with the Sustainable Development Goals for Health, and WHO’s global targets for a billion more people benefitting from universal health coverage, a billion more enjoying better health and well-being, and a billion more better protected from health emergencies.
