RULES OF ORDER Rule I - Convening of House The House of Representatives shall meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m., unless otherwise ordered. The Speaker shall take the chair precisely at the designated hour and shall immediately call the House to order. The Speaker shall cause the names of the members to be called in alphabetical order, followed by the opening prayer and pledge to the flag. If a quorum is present, he shall proceed with the business of the day. The minutes shall normally be made public and posted by the Chief Clerk prior to the next legislative day. With the consent of the House, the reading of the minutes for the previous day may be omitted. iii Rule 2 - Order of Business (a) After the reading of the minutes, the order of business shall be as follows: J. Presentation of petitions, memorials or communications. 2. Reports from Standing and Special Committees. 3. Introduction and first reading of Bills and Resolutions. 4. Consent Calendar when necessary; once each week. 5. Consideration
