In this highly technical field, Will is a skilled collaborator bringing engineering knowledge and technical understanding into the development of the concepts and the delivery of facades.

Will's international work has given him both hot and cold climate experience and an excellent understanding of the technical challenges that extreme climates demand. Expanding façade engineering into new markets in the UAE, , and the upper reaches of Norway he has brought many clients to understand the need and value that façade engineering brings to projects.

Since his very first project Will has had to deal with complex geometry. The work with Zaha Hadid has pushed this forward and has involved the development of new computing techniques for façade engineering as well as the necessity to understand the manufacturing process even further. This theme runs through his work and given the current trends looks likely to continue.

Trained as an architect, Will moved into façade engineering after working on the facades of some notable buildings including the facades of Royal Opera House in London and the glazing and cladding to Waterloo International Terminal.

Initially he provided detailing expertise to engineering practice Atelier One, working on the Singapore Opera House and Federation Square in Melbourne, as well as the National Gallery Extension in Ljubljana. In 1998 he joined whitbybird to start the façade engineering discipline there.

Leading the whitbybird façade engineering team for over 12 years he became a Director in 2004. Through a succession of commercial and Arts projects he used his skill and knowledge to develop a group of multi-skilled designers within Ramboll/whitbybird to deliver the most complex of facades, providing a specialist service that combines engineering and architectural skills as a vital part of the practice's multi-disciplinary design resources as well as building an increasing client base for single discipline façade engineering

Instrumental to the companies expansion into the middle east Will has worked on several intriguing and challenging projects in the region most notably the unbuilt Opus project and National Holdings office with Zaha Hadid Architects and the Ferrari World project by Benoy.

Will was also a key part of the whitbybird expansion into Italy, with the Façade Engineering department being part of the initial business start up in Verona. He continued in this role following the purchase of whitbybird by Ramboll and expanded the discipline into Denmark and Norway. interface will allow Will to develop his passion for facade engineering fully. Developing a team of highly skilled individuals with true expertise in knowledge and thinking. With their first project, 62 Buckingham Gate on Victoria Street in London, this is already becoming a reality.
