The species of the Pyramidellidae collected during several expeditions in the south-eastern part of the North Atlantic Ocean are listed, with locality data, depth ranges, and notes on nomenclature, system- atics and distribution. The samples classified with the genera Pyramidella, Tiberia, Adelactaeon, Odetta, Folinella, Ondina, Odostomia, Puposyrnola and Eulimella (partly) are dealt with in this paper. In total 64 species are reported from the research area, 32 of which are described as new to science; one nomen novum is introduced. Lectotypes of Aclis tricarinata Watson, 1897, Monoptygma puncturata Smith, 1872, Odetta sulcata de Folin, 1870, and Odostomia sulcifera Smith, 1872, are designated and figured. -

Ross 2 William Procter started work on the survey of the marine fauna of the Mount Desert Island region in the spring of 1926 after a summer’s spotting of the territory with a hand dredge. This work was continued from the last week in June until the first week of September through 1932. The specimens from this collection effort were brought back to Mount Desert Island recently. Although Procter noted that this inventorywas not intended to generate a complete list of all species recorded from the Mount Desert Island area, this inventory is the foundation on which all future work on the marine fauna in the region will build. An inven- tory of this magnitude has not been replicated in the region to date. This publication is the result of a major recovery effort for the collection initiated and funded by Acadia National Park. Many of the specimens in this collection were loosing preservative or were already dried out. Over a two year effort, Maine Natural History Observatory worked closely with Acadia National Park to re-house the collection in archival containers, re-hydrate specimens (through stepped concentrations of ethyl alcohol) that had dried, fully catalog the collection, and update the synonymy of specimens. -

The protoconch is hyper - strophic, as in the other cimids. At least, two European fossil species ( Cima gantensis Bandel, 20 05, from the Middle Eocene of Hungary and Murchisonella cf. obtusa Gougerot & Le Renard, 1978 from Early Oligocene of France) are also included in the new genus. Mifsudia melitensis (Mifsud, 1998) comb. nov., originally described from Malta, is here recorded for the first time from Lampedusa Island, Alboran Sea and the coasts of Mauritania (West Africa). Two parasitic gastropod species – Euli- Material: 1 specimen, 3.06.2009, R/V Dalnie Zelentsy, ma bilineata Alder, 1848 and Odostomia turrita Han- Yarnishnaya Bay, 69°07,802'N, 36°02,114'E; 4 specimens, ley, 1844 – are recorded for the first time from the 4.06.2009, R/V Dalnie Zelentsy, Dalnezelenetskaya Bay, Murman coast of the Barents Sea. The compilation of the available references revealed a total of 1065 species belonging to 7 classes (Caudofoveata, Solenogastres, Polyplacophora, Gastropoda, Bivalvia, Scaphopoda, and Cephalopoda). Most of the reported species belong to the class Gastropoda (706 species), followed by Bivalvia (279 species), Cephalopoda (50 species), Polyplacophora (17 species), Scaphopoda (10 species), Caudofoveata (2 species), and Solenogastres (1 species). Among the coasts of Turkey, the highest number of molluscan species was recorded from the Aegean Sea (825 species), followed by the Levantine Sea (807 species), Sea of Marmara (537 species), and the Black Sea (155 species). Of the 1065 mollusc taxa, 118 species are alien ones that originated outside the Mediterranean Sea. Among the listed species, Timoclea roemeriana (Bivalvia), and Sepiola ligulata and Abraliopsis morisii (both from Cephalopoda) are new records for the Turkish mollusc fauna, 11 species of the classes Polyplacophora, Gastropoda, and Bivalvia (Leptochiton boettgeri, Cerithium protractum, Similiphora similior, Cerithiopsis diadema, Rissoa guerinii, Crepidula moulinsii, Crepidula unguiformis, Bela zenetouae, Doto coronata, Lima marioni, and Limaria loscombi) are new reports for the Levantine coast of Turkey, and 2 gastropod species (Acirsa subdecussata and Monotygma lauta) are new reports for the Aegean coast of Turkey. -
