A total of 8 subgroups conducted their research independently but in coordination of the ”Impact of Climate Change on Agricultural Production in Arid Areas” ICCAP. The water resources of the basin were studied by the International Research Center For Karst Water Resources (UKAM) of the Hacettepe University (Ankara) in cooperation with the DSI, University of Cukurova in Adana and Mustafa Kemal University in Antakya. The Seyhan River Basin, located at a semi-arid part of Turkey-having significant water and land resources potential- was selected as a pilot study area, to inspect the vulnerable components of wa- ter resources (surface water and groundwater) sys- tems, and define and quantify their vulnerabil- ity to climate change. ÇÜ Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Dergisi,Cilt 15, Sayı 3 (Arkeoloji Özel Sayısı), 2006, s.15-44 ESKİ ÇAĞLARDA ÇUKUROVA’NIN TARİHİ COĞRAFYASI VE KİZZUWATNA (ADANA) KRALLIĞI’NIN SİYASİ TARİHİ* Prof. Dr. Ahmet ÜNAL Münih Üniversitesi Assuriyoloji ve Hititoloji Enstitüsü Eski Anadolu Dilleri ve Kültürleri Bölümü Başkanı [email protected] [email protected] ÖZET Anadolu insanoğlu tarihinin tüm safhalarını yaşamıştır.

From Bloodless Revolution to Bloody Counterrevolution: The Adana Massacres of 1909 1 Bedross Der Matossian University of Nebraska–Lincoln Abstract The historiography of the Adana Massacres of 1909 is represented by two diverging views. While some Turkish scholars deny the involvement of the local government officials in the massacres by putting all of the blame on the Armenians who revolted as part of a conspiracy to establish a kingdom in Cilicia, some Armenian scholars, whose work is overshadowed by the Armenian genocide, accuse the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) of acting behind the scenes to destroy the Armenian economic infrastructure in Adana in order to curb any future political and economic development in the area.
