We are one of over 300 BIDs in the UK and are funded by a 1% annual levy on business rates applied to city centre properties with a rateable value of at least £40,000 per annum. The city centre BID is a five-year programme which became operational in August 2015, following a successful ballot of local businesses. Our purpose is collaboration, working together to create improvements with an annual investment of £800,000 collected through the levy. We also have a baseline agreement with Sheffield City Council that guarantees a fixed standard of local authority services. The activities and services provided by Sheffield BID are additional to those supplied by Sheffield City Council or property owners.
