August at 3pm against Chelmsford City, followed by the Bank Holliday clash with Hemel Mark MATCH SPONSORS Wealdstone FC Supporters Club OBITUARY - DEREK GOSS I’m sad to report that my Grandad, Derek Goss, passed away on Monday at the age of 79. A fan since the 1950s (when he went to matches with his own Dad and Grandad), life and work took him away from the fold before he was dragged back in by his son-in-law - long-time fan and former board member Andrew Lane - for the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 1985. Since then, he has been a regular at home and away games, even up until last season (he was enjoying a pub lunch before the win against Bath in March). For the last 29 years or so, he’s been attending matches with me, my brother Chris Lane and my dad. He’s sponsored balls and matches and could be found in the boardroom in recent seasons in his role as a vice-president. He will be a familiar face or name to many at the club, and even up to this Saturday he was asking us for updates on the latest scores and was pleased to see the Stones kick off the season with a win.
