8TH JULY 2019 – 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2019 ATTACHMENT AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT NATIONAL LAND COMMISSION

National Land Commission (NLC) is an independent constitutional Commission established and operationalized under Article 67 of the Constitution of , 2010, the National Land Commission Act, 2012 and the National Land Policy, 2009 respectively.

In an endevour to complement Governments efforts in creating opportunities for Kenyan youth to gain relevant experience and/or to expose them to work environment so as to increase their chances of employability, National Land Commission offers Attachments and Internships to relevant ongoing students and young graduates respectively. On one hand, Attachments target. Students who are seeking attachment opportunities for the purpose of academic requirement for completion of a course. (Attachments are provided for a maximum of three months). This must be backed up with evidence from an accredited institution of learning for either diploma or degree programs. On the other hand, Internship targets recent graduates who have completed their studies and have graduated or awaiting graduation. This program is provided for a maximum period of six (6) months.

In view of the above, the Commission is delighted to advertise the following fourteen (14) and Twenty four (24) Attachment and Internship vacancies respectively in various Directorates/ Departments with effect from 8th July 2019 as follows;

QUALIFICATIONS AND BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. A Holder of Diploma, first Degree or Masters from a recognized Institution in the following disciplines: Land Economics/Real Estate. Survey, Land use Planning, Land Administration, GIS, Information, Communication & Technology, Supply Chain Management, Accounting & Finance, Human Resources Management, Legal, Investigation, Communication & Public Relations, Research, Environmental science and Natural Resources,

2. Be an unemployed Kenyan aged between 20 and 35 years i. Must not have benefited from a similar program ii. Not retired or exited from formal employment iii. For internship one must have completed their training and graduated with documentary proof of qualification (Degree/Diploma Certificate ) 3. Copy of certificate of good conduct 4. Copy of national identity card or passport 5. Two recent passport size photographs 6. Letter of introduction form the University indicating their field of study and the number of credits for the practical attachment (Students on Attachment) 7. Proof of insurance cover 8. Those who have recently completed their six (6) months internship period are not eligible to apply.

Note: 1. The Commission does not guarantee employment after the internship program 2. Canvassing is prohibited and if detected, the same will lead to automatic disqualification 3. Considerations on Regional Balance, Ethnicity, Persons Living With Disability and Gender will be applied in the selection process 4. Only those shortlisted will be contacted 5. Students on Attachment will not be paid stipend.
