Save the day with these tips: • This booklet contains everything you need to know about the Auction, so sit back, relax, and read, read, read! The bidding will be fast and frenzied, these steals and deals will go quickly, so don’t let some other hero beat you to it! You will have the opportunity to bid on a Hulk-sized assortment of items. • Remember to bring this booklet with you to the Auction! There will not be extra booklets available that night. • Another helpful tip: bring address labels. This can help simplify your time filling out raffle and game tickets! • There will be a delicious dinner, catered by Frankie V’s, along with beverages (including beer and wine). • Enjoy a fabulous dessert graciously provided by Marge’s Donut Den along with fresh, hot coffee generously donated by Michelle at Biggby Coffee on Gezon Parkway! • Additionally, pizza and water will be served at the beginning of Oral Auction, provided by Frankie V’s! • In addition, every person will be entered into an admission raffle for a door prize. Door prizes will be drawn during the Oral Auction. Silent Auction Bid Boards Bid Boards become available for viewing at 6:00 P.M. and bidding will begin at 6:30 P.M. When you wish to bid on a particular item, just print your bid number (located on your name tag), the item number, and the amount you wish to bid, on a Bid Board Tag. Hand this tag to your friendly bid board sidekick who will post your bid. Each time you bid, the bid must be increased by at least $2. The highest bidder at the time the Bid Board closes purchases that item. As stated in your schedule of events, each bid board will close at a specific time. When that time arrives, the buzzer will sound and the board will be closed. The highest bid for a specific item that is posted before the buzzer will be the winning bid. If a bid is submitted, but not hanging at the time the horn sounds, it will not be counted. Be aware that if you wait until the last minute to bid on an item, there may not be enough time to post the item on the board! Our bid board sidekicks are volunteering their time and talents and will do their best to help! Immediately prior to the close of each Bid Board, the Masters of Ceremonies (a real Dynamic Duo) will announce that the board is closing. That is the only notification that will be given. Keep an eye on the scoreboard clock to see how much time is left. When the buzzer sounds, no further bids will be accepted for items on that Bid Board. Once the bids are verified, the highest bids will be recorded and posted on the wall in the Village Hall. BID EARLY! BID OFTEN! BID HIGH! Oral Auction This live auction will start at approximately 9:30 P.M. and will feature the unique, the priceless, and the “don’t go home without it” items! Your host for the evening, Glenn Eckelkamp, will present each item and open the bidding with a suggested dollar amount. To bid, just raise your bid paddle! There will be assistants around the room to help Glenn acknowledge your bid. If you are the top bidder on an item, please share your bidd number with the auction assistant. Your item(s) will be available at checkout. Schedule of Events 6:00 P.M. Doors open! In the Village Hall: In the Gym: Dinner Buffet & Bar Open Find your table and settle in! This is the only way to make sure this treasure gets caught in your Spidey-web! Checkout & Redemption Center The Checkout & Redemption Center will open at 10:00 p.m. and is located in the upper lobby near the elevator. Feel free to claim your purchases any time after the center opens. Important Notes: • Items purchased by a group of people must be paid for by the individual whose bid number is used. That individual is responsible for collecting payment from the group. • Payment may be made using cash, check or credit card. This year we are putting our new technology to work using Square Readers on the iPads when you pay by credit card. • All payments must be made the night of Auction. All raffles and events will be signed for by using your bidder number on your registration tag, or you can pay cash if you wish. • This is a busy evening for our volunteer staff. In order to ensure everyone is charged accurately for their items, checkout will not be available before 10:00. Please plan accordingly.
