Organisation Applicant Project Project Description Location Funding Organisation Applicant Project Project description Location Funding requested £ West Silvertown West Silvertown Improvements to Britannia Our vision is to transform Britannia Village (BV) green into a well-loved, inclusive Britannia Village Green, £20,000 Foundation Foundation Village Green environment. BV is lacking “bumping spaces” – we have very few amenities, and the green Hanameel Street, currently feels likea thorough fare rather than a destination. This project aims to create an London, UK intergenerational space for neighbours to meet, build relationships and share life: a true village green. We will do this through: Play equipment: We will work with local children to design a play area, and where possible will create opportunities for the community to be part of the building process.Trees and greenery: We will create opportunities for local residents to connect with nature through plants - including more trees to create shade, rain cover and cleaner air. We would also like to plant flowers to create beauty in the space.Paths: Over the past 20 years residents have worn a mud path through the grass. We will recognise this as a proper path by paving it. Benches: We will place new benches around the green, creating safe places to sit and socialise. This bid will be used for detailed community consultation, building a path and benches, and to secure a partner and further funding for play equipment. Friends of Beckton Brian Provide wheelchair access For the last 2 years we have restored this 20 year abandoned park/pond and have been re- Beckton Small Ponds, £4,970 Small Ponds Pittendrigh to ponds and replace establishing basic infrastructure, creating gardens and improving the water quality for natural Beckton Corridor, derelict viewing platform life. Our project to repair and enlarge the derelict and sinking observation platform will make London it safer for the many visitors, especially young children and wheelchair users. The pathways we have established are covered in wood chippings as protection from mud/clay after rain, but are impassable for wheelchairs. Providing a permanent hard surface pathway to the platform will enable wheelchair users to enter and enjoy this popular area in the same way other local residents do, as well as providing sufficient motility space. This is a big project, and will ensure a much improved and safer outdoor space with equal access forall. Ilona Saber Beckton Nature Play and Beckton Nature Play is a group of parents and children who join together for weekly outdoor Beckton District Park - £17,260 Learning Sessions for learning and play sessions in Beckton District Park South woodland. We would like to South, Stansfeld Road, Families improve the park and make quality outdoor education sessions accessible to more families London, UK in Newham. We also aim at making the park cleaner and a more inclusive space by reducing litter and fly-tipping. We would deliver a mix of self-directed and structured learning and play sessions for Newham families, involving local schools, home educators and parents in general. Our sessions would be in mixed age groups, some will be aimed at entire families and some will be mainly for children. We will have a weekly daytime session during term time and more sessions a week during school holidays for both - under 5s and school age children. We will have facilitated and unfacilitated sessions with some of the topics: Bush craft and sustainable living Sociocratic circles for co-designing student led nature activities Forest school and camp fire cooking Co-designing and planting a perennial mini food forest Old enough to save the planet! Small changes for all For aging walks for all the family Planting a willow dome rain shelter Litter picking and keeping the park clean Emilee Kiely Improvements to the green We used to have street parties and everything, it’s still a close-knit community, but now the Drew Road Estate, £5,000 space on the Drew Rd youth club has closed, there’s so little for the kids……The small green space on the estate Silvertown estate, Silvertown had a planting project supported by the youth club, but now the club has closed, and the planting area has been vandalised. On Wednesday 9th June an afternoon was spent on site with local adults and children as part of the playground engagement togather suggestions on how to revitalise the planting. From a long list of suggestions the priorities are to:· Make a secure fence· Include play in the planting and things for very small children so adults can come with small children· Provide running water to the planting area There are approximately 280 households that back onto the playground, many of the households have no dedicated outside space other than access walkways. Children, young people and their carers who live in the medium rise tower blocks surrounding the playground, many in overcrowded conditions, will benefit from improvements to the green space. The project will be delivered with muf architecture art who have been working in North Woolwich for over 10 years. Permission for improvements has been granted by Newham Housing who are the land owners. Volunteer It Yourself will be involved in the build process with workshops aimed at local young people, some of whom have already signed up. Ayan mo Social space at North This project seeks to redesign the space outside the building by the lake at North Beckton Beckton Park, London, £4,800 Beckton Park pavillion Park for social use.The first aspect of the project will be to redesign the space outside the UK building, installing functional and decorative elements (seating and planting) creating an aesthetically pleasing space for the community to enjoy, play, and come together. The second is a lending facility for youth which provides games and equipment suitable for outdoor use and not available for borrowing in the area.1. Social seating area: Provide a welcoming and engaging seating area bringing the community together safely. Possible themes of midday vibrancy and evening cosiness. There will be bistro style seating and planting to brighten up the space and that can be changed up weekly/monthly to create a slightly different feel using multi-functional decor (e.g two tone dividers, tablecloths, different style folding chairs and tables). It will be versatile enough that it can be easily moved/dismantled to make way for future commercial use of the building. 2. Games and play equipment lending: board games and play items/equipment, including educational tools (binoculars, techgadgets eg augmented reality glasses or headsets.) More valuable equipment could have a membership-based lending. All items will require storage at the facility (park building) ora suitably sized storage container. A Friends of Beckton Park group would be set up to manage this initiative. ActiveNewham Craig HUghes Beckton Wallball Wall UK Wallball in partnership with activeNewham, will work with the Beckton Community Beckton, London, UK £12,500 Neighbourhood Team & local residents to design and develop an open Wallball wall which allows for inclusive and easily accessible sports & physical activity for residents, and provides an engaging and positive focal point for the neighbourhood, creating further opportunities for community engagement. Replicating the success of the Bank Side Open Spaces Trust Wall ball Wall which has engaged over 2000 people since its inception and been featured on the BBC & ITV with views of over 1 million people, the wall will be designed by local residents and feature and art mural created by those who live locally. A holistic project which fuses Sports & Arts the Wall will create a positive sustainable opportunity for residents of the local area and bring in further engagement from the surrounding area increasing overall footfall in the area and providing a real eyeopening focal point for the borough UK Wallball will also match fund the project providing Youth Opportunities and support the local community by providing free training and opportunities for people within the area to take on further activity. Beckton Globe Jordan Allen Multi Use Games Area at Project Application by the Beckton Globe Youth Zone Members Committee for a MUGA Beckton, London, UK £5,000 Beckton Globe (Multi Use Games Area) at the back of Beckton Globe Youth Zone. The aims of the project are to create an outdoor space for young people who use the youth zone to play sports and games. But it is also a space that can be used by all people who access Beckton Globe Youth Zone. It could be a place to interact and socialise with others. To take part in games with our peers and learn new skills. To practice team work and working together. An inclusive place that everyone could use and an opportunity to get off the street and do something positive Priority 2: inclusive and improved indoor and outdoor spaces Priority 3: Community Safety We think our project addresses two of the local priorities as it will improve our outdoor space and be available for everyone who accesses the centre to use. We also think it addresses the aspect of community safety as the area we would use for the MUGA is onewhere we feel safe and other young people feel the same and would come and use the space as well RDLAC Joy-Caron Community Gardening for A local community gardening project in St John’s Green Community Garden, North St John’s Green, North £5,000 Canter Wellbeing Woolwich and surrounding green areas We will run 3 sessions each week. 1 weekly adult Woolwich E16 gardening sessions on a Wednesday for 2 hours 2 weekly children’s gardening sessions, including offering activities through the North Woolwich Library and local afterschool clubs Adult sessions will include watering, sowing, planting, growing, weeding, mowing/ strumming, building raised beds, litter picking and learning how to maintain green spaces.

The Post Consultation Draft The Mayor’s draft supplementary planning guidance (SPG) the East London Green Grid Framework was published for consultation between November 2006 and February 2007. As a result of the comments received during the consultation period it is proposed to amend the document. As this SPG is linked to the Further Alterations to the London Plan (FALP) it is not possible to publish the final version of the SPG until the statutory process for these alterations has been completed. That process is scheduled to end with the publication of the revised London Plan early in 2008. In the interim period this Post Consultation version of the SPG illustrates the changes that have been made as a result of the comments received. This does not constitute a formal stage in the preparation of the SPG, nor does it provide for a further round of consultation. The status and weight attached to this document as a material consideration within the planning process will be greater as it has gone through a consultation process.
