Organisation Applicant Project Project description Location Funding requested £ West West Silvertown Improvements to Britannia Our vision is to transform Britannia Village (BV) green into a well-loved, inclusive Britannia Village Green, £20,000 Foundation Foundation Village Green environment. BV is lacking “bumping spaces” – we have very few amenities, and the green Hanameel Street, currently feels likea thorough fare rather than a destination. This project aims to create an London, UK intergenerational space for neighbours to meet, build relationships and share life: a true village green. We will do this through: Play equipment: We will work with local children to design a play area, and where possible will create opportunities for the community to be part of the building process.Trees and greenery: We will create opportunities for local residents to connect with nature through plants - including more trees to create shade, rain cover and cleaner air. We would also like to plant flowers to create beauty in the space.Paths: Over the past 20 years residents have worn a mud path through the grass. We will recognise this as a proper path by paving it. Benches: We will place new benches around the green, creating safe places to sit and socialise. This bid will be used for detailed community consultation, building a path and benches, and to secure a partner and further funding for play equipment.

Friends of Brian Provide wheelchair access For the last 2 years we have restored this 20 year abandoned park/pond and have been re- Beckton Small Ponds, £4,970 Small Ponds Pittendrigh to ponds and replace establishing basic infrastructure, creating gardens and improving the water quality for natural Beckton Corridor, derelict viewing platform life. Our project to repair and enlarge the derelict and sinking observation platform will make London it safer for the many visitors, especially young children and wheelchair users. The pathways we have established are covered in wood chippings as protection from mud/clay after rain, but are impassable for wheelchairs. Providing a permanent hard surface pathway to the platform will enable wheelchair users to enter and enjoy this popular area in the same way other local residents do, as well as providing sufficient motility space. This is a big project, and will ensure a much improved and safer outdoor space with equal access forall.

On Wednesday 9th June an afternoon was spent on site with local adults and children as part of the playground engagement togather suggestions on how to revitalise the planting. From a long list of suggestions the priorities are to:· Make a secure fence· Include play in the planting and things for very small children so adults can come with small children· Provide running water to the planting area There are approximately 280 households that back onto the playground, many of the households have no dedicated outside space other than access walkways. Children, young people and their carers who live in the medium rise tower blocks surrounding the playground, many in overcrowded conditions, will benefit from improvements to the green space. The project will be delivered with muf architecture art who have been working in for over 10 years. Permission for improvements has been granted by Newham Housing who are the land owners. Beckton Globe Jordan Allen Multi Use Games Area at Project Application by the Beckton Globe Youth Zone Members Committee for a MUGA Beckton, London, UK £5,000 Beckton Globe (Multi Use Games Area) at the back of Beckton Globe Youth Zone. The aims of the project are to create an outdoor space for young people who use the youth zone to play sports and games. But it is also a space that can be used by all people who access Beckton Globe Youth Zone. It could be a place to interact and socialise with others. To take part in games with our peers and learn new skills. To practice team work and working together. An inclusive place that everyone could use and an opportunity to get off the street and do something positive Priority 2: inclusive and improved indoor and outdoor spaces Priority 3: Community Safety We think our project addresses two of the local priorities as it will improve our outdoor space and be available for everyone who accesses the centre to use. We also think it addresses the aspect of community safety as the area we would use for the MUGA is onewhere we feel safe and other young people feel the same and would come and use the space as well RDLAC Joy-Caron Community Gardening for A local community gardening project in St John’s Green Community Garden, North St John’s Green, North £5,000 Canter Wellbeing Woolwich and surrounding green areas We will run 3 sessions each week. 1 weekly adult Woolwich E16 gardening sessions on a Wednesday for 2 hours 2 weekly children’s gardening sessions, including offering activities through the North Woolwich Library and local afterschool clubs Adult sessions will include watering, sowing, planting, growing, weeding, mowing/ strumming, building raised beds, litter picking and learning how to maintain green spaces. We will organise foraging and preparing fruit eg. jam bottling fruit and veg Using raised growing beds throughout the area, we would like to provide growing space for locals to grow edible gardens - eg a “soup” box, a “salad” box, a “ herb” box - where residents can walk past and simply pick and take home - we will collect with the children to make healthy snacks This would meet the following priorities:* Cleaner environment* Inclusive and Improved outdoor spaces* Community safety Doodling Around Matt Ponting Improvements to park map Local priority: Inclusive and Improved indoor and outdoor spaces My project aims to improve Beckton Park, London, £3,550 signage the park signage in Royal Victoria Gardens, Beckton District Park and New Beckton Park, to UK make them feel safer, more accessible and appealing for all.The current signage consists of A1-sized maps behind transparent plastic. However, they’re in bad condition, some have been defaced, the paper is now faded and all are difficult to read as the transparent plastic has become old. The text is very small and the content doesn’t showcase the full spectrum of nature that can be enjoyed. My plan is for a new set of nature focussed maps - the content will be determined by community workshops to come up with bright colourful signs which illustrate:· Local wildlife· Community groups· Running paths· Wildlife walks· Did you know?· Links to other local areas – provide distances, anddirections· Information on local wildlife – flora and fauna – tree identification· Green projects – e.g. orchards and tree plantingThe park signage itself will be modernised so it doesn’t get vandalised so easily. The most effective way of do this is to keep the current frames, repaint, remove the transparent plastic covering and print directly on a resin board. The boards can bere placed, as and when needed. RDLAC Joy-Caron Inclusive Community Hub We will provide inclusive and improved indoor and outdoor spaces- as well as activate these Learning & £20,000 Canter spaces with free activities to engage local residents - an inclusive community food and Activity Centre, Albert activity hub, including two indoor and two outdoor cafes and free activities in the spaces. Examples of activities include yoga, tai chi, pilates, gardening, computer sessions, coffee mornings, local walks and art classes. We will also include free refreshments, drinks and healthy snacks for participants. We will consult with local community members to help design the hub, to choose additional activities that they would like to see as well as suggest menus for the cafe. This project meets the priorities:* Cleaner environments* Inclusive and Improved outdoor spaces* Community safety

Beckton Community Yakub Ali Beckton Community We are a new organisation and this is the first contact we have made with Newham London. £5,000 Projects Projects - Initiation of the We are in the process of setting up Beckton Community Projects as a registered Charity, Youth Club however, will like to start working towards our youth projects as soon as possible. Our open day for the Youth Club is 26th June 2021 at the Windsor Park Community Center. The first outreach work has been concluded and we have had a positive reaction from the local community. Our aims are to improve appearance and functioning of our local community. With the youth centre opening we will be able to help young people with their social, financial and educational needs. Our short term goal is to get the youth club and adult social sessions started to build a sense of community cohesion, to tackle antisocial behaviour and reduce the crime rate in Beckton as it is one of the highest in the Newham Borough. Our long term goals will be to produce diverse projects for the wider community. We are currently running a weekly football session for adults at Power League Newham and have been running this for 13 years. This has helped members of the community with their emotional and physical wellbeing. We hope to expand on this project in the near future to better support the wider community. We have managed to secure a venue booking by working in collaboration with 1st 4education and would like to run a weekly youth club.In the past we managed to set up a few sessions using our own personal equipment (from home) an borrowing equipment from alocal after school cub which has since closed, however, this isn't sustainable. Below are a list of equipment we have covered from our own pockets. There are many more equipment needed to sustain the longevity of this project.Pool Table Table Tennis Table Football Air Hockey TV x 2 PS4 x2 Games Console (Nintendo Wii, Xbox) Board Games Safety Darts Projector Arts and crafts DBS Check PAT Testing Martial Arts School of Fuman Singh Feeling Safe on the Streets / Community safety is absolutely critical for all residents. This class will also focus on mental wellbeing as much asthe physical, also dealing with issues such as domestic violence, bullying, bereavement, stress. anxiety and depression. I have previously taught women who have experienced domestic violence so I have an understanding of the issues concerning domestic violence, physical and mental abuse and the effects that it has on people. So by learning self defence and exercising, I know the benefits that this activity will have on people. This project will produce effective, cognitive behavioural benefits, more positive response to physical challenges, greater autonomy, emotional stability, assertiveness and reduction of anxiety and depression.
