Check Out Spicejet, Hyderabad to Coimbatore Flight which costs you 1600 per trip. Posted 5 days ago. ( permalink ) Ismail Shariff says:

Well, here is my input.

Been to Ooty quite a few times. And, the fastest we ever went, was whent here was a truck strike, and no heavy vehicle on the road. (Yes we drove down, allll the times that i have been there) It took us about 13 hours to reach there, excluding the loo, eating and relaxing time.

So 3 days - if we go by Road - NOT POSSIBLE 3 days - if we go by train - NOT POSSIBLE But, 3 days, if we go by flight, is possibly enough, to cover around half the stuff mentioned in the first post.

For which, you guys would need to leave for Coimbatore, on Thursday night itself. and leave for Ooty, at the earliest the next day. Its about 80kms from coimbatore. but as its all ghats, it takes more than 3 hours for sure.

Now, this also means, that you would need to leave Ooty, by sunday afternoon, and take the evening flight (dont know what time it is), coz I believe, there are no early morning flights from coim to hyd, the latest is from 7am.

Considering this, you have - half day on a friday, one full saturday and half day on a sunday. So 2 days.

Chalk it out well folks, and make the most of those 2 days :) Posted 5 days ago. ( permalink )

lets do something closer how about or Nagarjunsagar with Amaravathi Posted 5 days ago. ( permalink ) Chendur says:

I travel frequently to coimbatore... spicejet / kingfisher can give good deals if you book early. Total flight charges around 4k guyz. Itz awesome to take the toy train from Mettupalayam to Ooty.. It starts at 7-730 early in the morning and there is a very high demand for tickets if you want to take the first coach that faces uphill.. Better to book early and get your window seats in the toy train. It is a 4 hour trip and you will enjoy the tranquility and scenery!

Well the schedule planned here is pretty aggressive... as it took me two full days to enjoy Kotagiri and nearby places alone if you would like to walk around a lot peacefully among the hills, tea estates and shoot! And one can visit tea estates and that alone can take more than a half a day walking around... Some shots from in and around kotagiri

Unless you've an abiding interest in landscape photography, misty scenes or simply clambering up rocks, Horsley Hills has little else to offer apart from its refreshingly cool climate. Marble Rocks The perpendicular magnesium limestone rocks fringe the crystal clear placid waters of the Narmada providing a fascinating site. Boating facilities are available between November-May. Boating on a moonlit night, when the whole stretch of water is transformed into a sheet of liquid silver is absolutely magical. In the narrow channel of the mighty river, there is a place approached so closely from the opposite banks that the local people have aptly named it the "Monkey's Leap" .

Dhuandhar Falls The Narmada, making its way through the Marble Rock,s narrows down and then plunges in a waterfall known as Dhuandhar or the smoke casade. So powerful is the plunge that its roar is heard from a far distance. The falls and the breaking of the volume of water at the crest present an awesome spectacle of Nature's power unleashed.

Chausat Yogini Temple Situated atop a hillock and approached by a long flight of steps, the Chusat Yogini Temple commands a singularly beautiful view of the Narmada flowing through the jagged Marble Rocks. Dedicated to goddess Durga, this 10th century temple has exquisitely carved stone figures of deities belonging to the kalchuri period. According to a local legend, this ancient temple is connected to the Gond Queen Durgavati's palace through an underground passage.

As per a couple of friends, who have been to Aurangabad, its going to be hotter than AP for sure.

If we have so many days, why not shimla or kaodaikanal, maybe even coorg. There is not much to see at these places, which will take more than 2 days. Plus, they are going to be cold.

And as we have enough time now, we can book flights, for cheap. And also, bug suman to get us some good off-beat place to go to, around there.

But, the price of the trip will go up, if booked right away, the trip to and back, hyd-del-hyd, is Rs.8,600 (Kingfisher and Jetlite) and Rs 8,990 (Spicejet)
