The Library acquired the substantial collections of the library of the Independent Television Commission – now making the bfi National Library the world’s foremost library on film and television. The acquisition included the programme files of Associated- Rediffusion dating back to the early days of commercial television. The papers of film director , scriptwriter Julia Jones, ETV, as well as important material from the collections of the late Denis Gifford including unique sound recordings, were also acquired. The Library’s ‘Bigger Than Bollywood’ exhibition appeared in 29 libraries across the country as part of the ImagineAsia project.
