MEDIA RELEASE “Pure Football, Pure Hope” Nearly 40 world-famous stars already confirmed for Football for Hope match FIFA and UEFA have invited some 50 players, including some of the biggest stars in world football, to take part in the Football for Hope match in Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium on 15 February (kick-off 21.00h CET). Nearly 40 of these players have already confirmed their attendance – yet more proof of the boundless solidarity of the international football family. Organised by FIFA and UEFA with the approval of the Royal Spanish football association and with support from FC Barcelona who are providing their stadium and staff free of charge, this benefit match for the victims of the tsunami will see an XI led by Ronaldinho, the FIFA World Player 2004, take on a team captained by Andriy Shevchenko, the European Footballer of the Year 2004.
