Trophy Fees

Trophy Fees include a 10% development tax, as well as a tax on ammunition fired in CAR. Because the CAR government establishes the trophy fees, they are subject to change without notice. The trophy fees are to be paid at the end of the safari, either in cash directly to CAWA, or by invoice.

Female = double trophy fee and no new license Wounded (visible blood) = full trophy fee and no new license shot for bait are to be paid at half the original price (50%). All animals shot for bait are to be paid; even those not taken by the hunter himself.

Upgrade Fees

If the hunter wishes to hunt an animal that is not included in the list of allowed species, and if CAWA has quotas left of this species, it may be hunted for an upgrade fee. The upgrade fee is to be paid only if the hunter kills or wounds an animal. Trophy fees always have to be paid on top of the upgrade fees.

NB! CAWA cannot guarantee that animals will be available on quota for upgrades. If it is important to the hunter to hunt a certain species, it should be reserved at the time of booking the safari.

Other Costs

Rental of gun, if required: (E) 35/day, ammunition included (The gun is a cal.375 H&H in good condition, with a scope of good quality. Good quality ammunition: TBB, Nosler or Barnes X.)

Gratuities: Gratuities are of course optional, but if you are satisfied with your safari, we recommend that you give (E) 750/hunter a week for the camp staff to share, and (E) 750/week for the PH.
