Monday, 9/19 Mastering Wines with Karen MacNeil 9 am ‐ 12:30 pm Join wine expert Karen MacNeil for her dynamic, interactive seminar, Mastering Wine. In this in‐depth seminar you’ll learn what pros look for when they evaluate and score wines. Learn insider’s tips on how to improve your sensory ability when you taste, and most importantly, how to create a “taste memory” for the wines you experience. Whether you are a novice or an advanced taster, you will leave this seminar with concrete information that will help you maximize the pleasure of all of the wines in your future. Distinguished Lunch 12:45 ‐ 3 pm Lunch will be served with one distinguished guest at each table. This roundtable session will provide opportunities for the attendees to engage winery owners one‐on‐one while sampling their creations. Willamette Valley and its Distinct Regions 3:30 ‐ 4:30 pm Panel discussion moderated by Master Sommelier Guy Stout Over the past ten years, wineries from the famed Oregon wine growing region of Willamette Valley have worked hard to differentiate the sub regions within the A.V.A. (American Viticultural Area) to highlight the site specificity of each. Learn how the differences of soil types, elevations, aspect, and varied climate conditions have contributed to an almost Burgundian individuality to each site. Premiere Wine Dinner 7 pm With guest Chef, Christopher Czarnecki of Joel Palmer House The Wine Dinner will be an extraordinary event. Premium wines will be featured from Oregon’s top wineries, dinner will be hosted at River Oaks Country Club, featuring one of Oregon’s finest Chefs who is best known for his wild mushroom culinary creations.
