In the letter 2nd read above, the Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has stated that the District Collector Tiruchirappalli has informed that the project of providing wooden floor at the newly built Indoor Stadium in Anna Stadium Complex, Tiruchirappalli has been taken up under Self Sufficiency Scheme at an estimated cost of RS.7S.00 lakhs prepared by Public Works Department and has been completed. The Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has therefore proposed to utilize the said allotted amount of RS.57.S0 lakhs for providing wooden floor at the newly constructed Indoor Badminton hall in Dr.M.G.R. Stadium, Madurai. He has also stated that without a wooden floor, professional events cannot be conducted in the Indoor Badminton Stadium and also the wooden floor would minimize the possibilities of sports injuries to badminton players. 3. The Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has also furnished a copy of the rough cost estimate for RS.S7.S0lakhs prepared by adopting the Public Works Department schedule of rates by the Assistant Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Office of the Sports • Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and requested the Government to issue necessary orders to utilize the sum of RS.57.50 lakhs for providing wooden floor at Indoor Badminton hall in Dr.M.G.R. Stadium, Madurai instead of providing wooden floor at Indoor Stadium in Anna Stadium Complex, Tiruchirapalli. 4. The Government, after careful consideration, permit the Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu to utilize the sum of RS.57.50 lakhs (Rupees Fifty seven lakhs and fifty thousand only) for providing wooden floor at Indoor Badminton hall in Dr.M.G.R. Stadium, Madurai instead of providing the wooden floor at Indoor Stadium in Anna Stadium Complex, Tiruchirapalli.
