10 Songs that You Might Want to Listen to Before Their Concert You have to at least know some of the songs that they’re performing right?

The Script is coming back to Singapore next month on 12th April 2018. I mean, finally! Their last Singapore concert stop was in 2015 on their tour. Okay so correct me if I am wrong but I think that The Script has been losing popularity in Singapore over the past couple years. I don’t know why but it is quite sad since they are really damn talented and have an insane amount of great songs.

Fear not if you’ve been out of touch with The Script for a while as I will be listing down 10 of their songs that you might want to listen to before their concert. Perhaps listen enough so that you can at least lip sync or mouth the lyrics while they’re performing. Fact is you might actually know these songs once you listen to it! It happens! You know the song but you don’t really know the artist behind it… It happens too many times for me jeez.

So yes, listen to these 10 songs before the concert and hopefully, they might be in the Singapore’s concert setlist!

NOTE: Most of them are B-tracks, not their popular title songs which I bet most of you know. Examples would be Hall of Fame, Breakeven and the Man Who Can’t Be Moved.

1. Superheroes

Superheroes is that song. The inspirational song with a great beat. It’s about those who are willing to sacrifice and go through pain for the good of other people. It’s for those who wants and needs to recognise the good in others.

2. Arms Open

This is basically for those who want to tell their partners that they are always there for them. You might not be able to feel the same and experience what they’ve experienced but it’s a way to say that you’ll be by their side always waiting for them, with open arms.

3. Nothing

Personally, I love this song the most when they are performing it. They would usually joke about it before performing. Back during their 2015 Perth concert that I went to, they actually called an audience member’s ex boyfriend. It is about calling someone only when you have the liquid courage. It’s basically about trying to get over someone.

4.

I think this is one of their songs whereby the lyrics can be interpreted in anyway possible. It can be about a partner leaving, a parent’s words to their child or just anything really. One of the best lyrics they’ve ever written.

5. Man on a Wire

People say its arguably one of their best underrated songs. Yes, it is also about trying to get over someone and how it is nearly similar to looking down from an extremely high zipline. No seriously, watch the video. You will get it.

6.

We Cry has an uplifting and inspirational message if you really read and analyse the lyrics. It sends a message to those going through rough times and acknowledge the fact that everyone has went through a rough patch. It also emphasises that as long as you have those you love around you, you will prevail.

7.

This is about a partner wanting to leave and the other wants to try to talk them out of it. The other knows that if the partner leaves, the relationship will be over. It’s based of Mark Sheehan’s relationship with his mother, whom he recently lost then. He states that he always says “if she goes, I’m gone.”

8. It’s Not Right for You

This song is about doing what you really love and not what you are supposed to do. It is a great message for all the young adults who are just trying to find their passion and their career paths.

9. If You Could See Me Now

My favourite song out of all their songs. Seriously. This song is about wondering how our parents will see us when they’ve passed and if they will be proud about who you’ve become. The emotional lyrics accompanied by a relatively upbeat melody gives off a sense of faith and love.

10. Six Degrees of Separation

We all know this song. It is based on the premise that there are six steps to heal a broken heart. This song is about how one admits their faults in the relationship instead of just automatically blaming the other party.

Obviously you have your own favourite The Script songs that you listen to so do tell me what they are! And yes, I will be at their Singapore concert so hope to see all of you there! (I’m part of the mosh ;) hehe)
