Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School Volume
Charter Schools Institute State University of New York BROOKLYN EXCELSIOR CHARTER SCHOOL FINAL CHARTERED AGREEMENT Sec. 2852(5) Submission to the Board of Trustees VOLUME _£_OF_3 REDACTED COP 74 North Pearl Street, 4th Floor, Albany, NY 12207 tel: (518) 433-8277 fax: (518) 427-6510 e-mail: [email protected] www.newyorkcharters.org 1032 O COPYRIGHT NATIONAL HERITAGE ACADEMIES 2001-2002 SCHOOL YEAR (REV. A 7/2001) 1033 Educational Technology Philosophy The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) has tracked student achievement for nearly three decades. In 1996, the results of the NAEP indicated a link between certain kinds of technology use, higher scores on the NAEP, and an improved school climate.1 It is important to note that not all types of technology use produced these results. In fact, the results indicated that the use of computers for "drill and practice" may result in decreased student scores. The technology use that proved most beneficial centered on using the computer for simulation, problem solving and analysis. The computer's most powerful uses are for making things visual," says James Kaput, a math professor at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. "It can make visual abstract processes that that are otherwise ineffable." As an organization, NHA focuses on delivering a "back to basics" approach to education based on research to generate student performance results. NHA's philosophy is grounded in the premise that the primary educational focus in elementary school should be mastering the core academic subjects of English, reading, mathematics, history, and science. Use of technology within the framework of the core academic curriculum must be age appropriate and must enhance the learning process. -
Frankie Muniz Denies Being Suicidal During Fight with Girlfriend
Frankie Muniz Denies Being Suicidal During Fight With Girlfriend Police were called to former Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz’s house after a fight with his girlfriend turned serious, according to People. His publicist girlfriend, Elycia Turnbow, told police that Muniz put a handgun to his head “possibly with [the] intent of committing suicide.” The actor’s rep countered, saying, “A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping… He was not suicidal.” Ironically, Muniz was the one who called police to the residence, complaining that Turnbow was “throwing things and hitting [him].” What are some ways to keep fights from escalating? Cupid’s Advice: When things get heated between you and a partner, it’s important not to lose control. Cupid has some tips on how to keep a lover’s quarrel from turning ugly: 1. Think ahead: Remember the last time you fought and you said things you wish you could take back? Next time, think carefully before you do or say something you’ll regret later. 2. Slow down: Take a step back from the situation before things get out of control. By pausing for a minute and taking some deep breaths, you can stop the fight from escalating. 3. Never resort to violence: If you’re feeling so worked up that you’re considering physical violence, walk away from the situation immediately and tell your mate you can talk later, once you’ve both calmed down.. -

Movie Data Analysis.Pdf
FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue? What aspects should people put more effort on and what factors should people focus on when they try to higher the revenue of a movie? http://localhost:8888/nbconvert/html/Desktop/MyProjects/Pr_085/FinalProject.ipynb?download=false Page 1 of 62 FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM Hypothesis: We predict that the following factors contribute the most to movie revenue. -
