Food Junction opens second MEDZS restaurant at Millenia Walk

SINGAPORE – 22 March 2012 – Mainboard-listed lifestyle food service company Food Junction Holdings Limited (“Food Junction” or “the Group”) today announced the opening of its second MEDZS Simply Mediterranean open-concept restaurant at Millenia Walk, a year after its inaugural launch in Orchard Central.
Located on the ground floor of Millenia Walk, the new 6,000 square feet restaurant faces Raffles Boulevard and is helmed by Executive Chef Anesrif El Mustapha. MEDZS is known for its affordable Mediterranean fare from Spain, Morocco, France, Turkey and Greece such as Moroccan meat and seafood in lemons and olives cooked and served in traditional tagines; Spanish paella; French duck confit; Turkish shawarma, Arabic pizzas and kebab skewers in tahini, as well as Greek open grill of seafood served with its unique sesame and pomegranate sauces.
This outlet also features the 5% Bar, which offers an unrivalled range of more than 120 brands of international and craft beers. This time, the bar’s highlight is its al-fresco section just outside the restaurant that makes it a perfect watering hole for those wanting to wind down after a long day’s work.
This new outlet will have the same open-kitchen concept as before, and customers will enjoy the same electronic card system, which gives them the convenience of paying only at the end of the meal.

Earlier in 2012, the Group launched a new all-day breakfast concept – Eggs & Berries – at Changi City Point, and its premium Chinese dining concept - Li Xuan - in Shanghai.
“In a short while, we will launch the colourful Squirrel Bites concept in VivoCity – a concept that we think will be highly popular and may see more stores in other malls throughout Singapore and the region. Not forgetting our core food court business – we are opening our 20 th food court in Sembawang Shopping Centre,” Mr Lim added.
Squirrel Bites @ VivoCity
Squirrel Bites is Food Junction’s latest concept, which offers food-on-the-go. Located at 1 Harbourfront Walk, #02-129 in VivoCity, this snack bar specialises in crispy pastries known as “Summer Bites”, which are crowned with 12 choices of either sweet or savoury toppings such as caramel apple cinnamon, kaya avalanche and cheesy garlic butter. The outlet also offers over 10 varieties of “Ice Bites”, which are cones of flavoured shaved ice topped with tropical fruits and other sweet delights – a perfect solution to combat Singapore’s tropical heat.

Food Junction @ Sembawang Shopping Centre
The Group will open its 20 th food court in Singapore – a 9,700 square-feet food court comprising of 10 mini restaurants offering local food stalls, located on the 2nd floor of Sembawang Shopping Centre – later this year. With a total seating capacity of approx 380 seats , Food Junction at Sembawang Shopping Centre will cater to residents in the area as well as people working in the area.
Besides offering affordable items on the menu, the food court is also designed with a modern and vibrant concept, featuring an exuberance of colours that befits the ambience and vibe at the mall. It will also feature a Toast@Work , which serves traditional coffee, kaya toast and popular local delights, and which has now become a quintessential part of the Group’s food courts.
