Baz replaced them, and problem sorted. However,he showed me the old lower wishbone. On one of the ends opposite the ball joint, some one had bodgied it up with Silicone sealant (see pic). I speculate that it was done by an apprentice who was later fired. The locator bracket (or whatever it is called) must of fallen off, even though it's not supposed to. Membership Report October, 2019 This month we have another 4 renewals and 2 new members.

The Sprint/ Regularity events on the 5th & 26 October have been and gone. The GTV ran well till the last run on the 26th. The exhaust developed a crack on the final couple of laps in the piece of pipe where the pipes go from two to one. Although I have not had a good look at it, it looks like metal fatigue. I have recently had the complete exhaust re- adjusted as it was not done correctly the first time last year. The original fitting left the resonator too low, covered the rear brake callipers making it impossible to change brake pads and the bracket near the front of the car was the incor- rect length and subsequently it destroyed the rubber securing bush when the motor was under load. Anyway,I had it adjusted. I now suspect that that front bracket repair of the repair may have contributed to the crack. Time will tell when I get it up onto a hoist.

On other matters, we are off to Moore Park Beach north of Bundaberg for a week or so to relax and do some snorkelling on the reef.

Welcome to new Members this month: Tim Reid & Lisa Bertoldi and family with their 1969 white 1750 GTV.

Entry is $15.00 per display car which included driver and all passengers. Gates open for display cars at 7.30am, 9.00am for visitors, awards ceremony will be at midday. On site caterers have been organised and there will be three coffee from early morning for those of you desperate on your caffeine fix as soon as your arrive. Food vans will also be serving breakfast rolls from gate opening time in case you did not have time for breakfast prior to departure. To avoid the queues at the gates, we urge visitors to pre-register and pay for entry during the weeks prior to the event. Those who pre-register will be sent a form to display on their dash as they drive in to the range and then proceed through the preregistered lane thus avoiding those waiting to pay at the gate. Pre-registration also gives the organisers an idea of how many cars are attending from specific clubs and ensure that there is sufficient parking allocated so the club members can park together. Pre-registration forms can be downloaded from the MacLean’s Bridge website. This year the classes for judging the cars has changed and also note that only cars displaying a “field judging card” on their dash will be judged for an award. Cards will be handed out in the pack at the gate or can be downloaded from the website. Once again proceeds from this event are going to assist Orange Sky with washing and showering facilities for the homeless. https://macleansbridge.com/index.php/macleans-bridge
