EUROPEAN VETERAN OUTDOORS RECORDS 2011 Compiled by Ivar Söderlind, Statistician of EVAA (20.10.2011) 1 EUROPEAN VETERAN OUTDOORS RECORDS 2011 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, statistician of EVAA (20.10.2011) In 2011, up to October 20, I have registered 43 new or modified European Records and 25 also are World Records. In the European Masters Games (EMG) in Italy September 10-20 I found 5 European Records and all 5 also are World Records. In the WMA Championship Outdoors in Sacramento, USA July 5-17 I have noted 6 European Records and 3 of these records are World Records. And in the European Veteran Athletic Championship Indoors (EVACI) in Gent, BEL March 16-20 2011 I found 3 World Records outdoors: in discus W75, Weight Throw M80 and Hammer W80. In 2010 I changed in the Record Lists because of new equipments, weights, hurdles distances etc. from May 1 2010. WMA´s decided changes in the rules for veterans were then implemented. In K70+ and M80+, 300m hurdles have been replaced by 200 m hurdles (hurdle height 68.6 cm). In the European Record Lists we will present both old records (in 300m hurdles) and the new records (in 200m hurdles). In K75+ the weight in Shot Put and Hammer dropped from 3.0 kg to 2.0 kg and in weight throw it dropped from 5.45 to 4.0 kg. The old records in these throw events will be left up until it is better results with the new weights. In M60-M65, we have (since 2009) new hurdles distance of 60m hurdles indoor and 100m hurdles outdoor (12.00 meters from the start to the first hurdle and 16.00 meters from the last hurdles to the goal.) Observe that IAAF:s rules concerning the winds in Multievent competitions was changed in the congress at the World Championships in Berlin 2009 and the 4.0 m/s limit is not valid anymore! The only rule is the average of 2.0 m/s taken over all wind measured events. From May 1 2010 we also have new age factors for scoring of Combined Events (Throw Pentathlon, Pentathlon, Heptathlon and Decathlon). My statistician colleagues Ove Edlund, Sweden and Bernd Rehpenning, Germany, has updated combined events. Observe that it is absolutely necessary to register all results and scores for the separate events in combined events. It is especially important now when the new Age Factors are introduced. I also have had very good assistance with the Running from Ken Young, USA, member of the Association of Road Racing Statisticians (ARRS), and with the Road Walk Records from Birger Fält, Sweden, member of ARRS and coordinator of the Race Walking Group. I have also found many results in “All Time World Rankings – Master Athletics” which I have checked with Ken and Birger. (http://www.mastersathletics.net/All-Time-Rankings-Track-and-Field-Master.365.0.html) When two or more results are noted in one age group and event the first noted result is the official record if it is missing some tasks for the second result. Only results with all tasks reported (Birth Date, Date and Place for the Competition etc) are approved as official records. For 100m, 200m, the short hurdle distances, long jump and triple jump outdoors only results reached with up to 2.0 m/sec are accepted (wind-gauge is definitely necessary)! I have noted if the European Records are Official World Records or better than the Official World Records. Notice that EVAA has decided that only events which are in the program for European Championships will be in the Record List (with exception of 3000m). In 1999 and 2000 we have new javelins in many age groups. In the Record lists I present the records with the new javelin and also the old records with the old javelin if they are better than the new ones. In 2000 we also had new hurdle height 68.6 cm for short and long hurdles in the oldest age groups. The old records with hurdle height 76.2 cm will be left up until it is better results with the lower hurdles (and the same distances 2 between the hurdles). In some Champion Ships wind gauge has been used but in the official result lists it was only noted if the wind was correct or not. (c = correct wind; up to 2.0 m/sec). *New or modified Records in 2011 a) Not yet officially approved record, some data is missing Welcome to EVAA Web Site: www.evaa.ch 3 100m Age group Wind Name and 1 EUROPEAN MASTERS INDOOR RECORDS 2015 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, EMA Record Statistician 151103 I have worked with the European Records more than 27 years (started in July 1988), Since June 2000, when I and the Swedish webmaster Åke Runnman started the EVAA Web Site, I have also compiled and reported the European Records on Web Site. In 2012 we started the Data Base of the European Records in EVAA Website. I really believe that the Data Base and the EMA Record Team with me, Giusy Lacava from Italy and Miroslaw Luniewski from Poland is a step in the right direction in pace with times. I will as all my previous years as Record Statistician, continue to report on the new EMA Web Site and also send out my printable record lists with my notes to my contact friends some times a year, all with the aim to have the record list more complete. Please check the list given below and help us in the Record Group. In 2015 up to November 3 we have registered 44 European Records (31 World Records). We also have two more results (a) which shall be ratified as European Record when/if all record forms/documents are received and ratified by EMA. In 2014, up to December 31, we registered 77 European Indoor Records (50 World Records. In 2013 we registered 40 European Indoor Record (20 World Records). In the European Master Championship Indoors in Torun, POL March 23-28 2015 we noted 20 European Indoor Records and 14 of these records also were World Records.

  • Outdoor Stadia
1 EUROPEAN VETERAN OUTDOORS RECORDS 2012 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, statistician of EVAA 25-07-2012 In 2012 up to July 25 I have registered 35 new or modified European Outdoor Records and 27 also are World Records or better than the official World Records. 23 of these new registered records are brought 2012. In 2011 I totally registered 49 new or modified European Records and 32 also were World Records. In the WMA Championship Indoors in Jyväskylä, FIN April 3 -8 2012 I noted four European Outdoor Records Stadia and one of these records also were World Records:W85 Hammer (World Record), M95 Hammer and M95 Javelin. In M60-M65, we have (since 2009) new hurdles distance of 60m hurdles indoor and 100m hurdles outdoor (12.00 meters from the start to the first hurdle and 16.00 meters from the last hurdles to the goal.) Observe that IAAF:s rules concerning the winds in Multievent competitions were changed in the congress at the World Championships in Berlin 2009 and the 4.0 m/s limit is not valid anymore! The only rule is the average of 2.0 m/s taken over all wind measured events.

  • European Masters Indoor Records 2020
1 EUROPEAN MASTERS INDOOR RECORDS 2020 compiled by Ivar Söderlind, Record Manager of EMA December 31, 2020 I have soon worked with the European Masters Records for 32 years. I started in July 1988 on behalf of EVAA (European Veteran Athletics Association). Before it was no statistic compilation with official European Masters Records. Since June 2000, when I and the Swedish webmaster Åke Runnman started the EVAA Web Site, I have compiled and reported the European Records on EVAA/EMA Web Site. In 2012, we started the Data Base of the European Records/Best Performances in EVAA Website. I really believe that the Data Base and the EMA Record Group with me, Giusy Lacava from Italy and Fernando Marquina from Spain has been a step in the right direction in pace with times. I will also continue to publish my Record lists with my comments on the EMA Web Site. Please check the list given below and help us in the Record Group to make it more complete. In 2020, up to December 31, we have, despite the Corona pandemic and no International Indoor Masters Championships in 2020, registered as many as 26 European Indoor Records and 14 of these records also are World Indoor Records. We also have 7 more results (a) up to 2020 which shall be ratified as European Indoor Records when/if all record forms/documents are received and ratified by EMA. In 2019, up to December 31, we totally registered 57 European Indoor Records and 31 of them also were World Indoor Records. In the World Masters Championships Indoors (WMACI)in Torun, Polen in March 2019 we noted 42 European Records (3 outdoors) and 20 of these records also were world records.

Further research will be carried out and this publication will be corrected and refined in future updates. This is particularly the case on the women’s side which was very poorly documented for many years. I know there are inconsistencies in the way women’s records were reported in newspapers and programmes over the years. If anyone has any information, corrections or queries, no matter how small, please contact me at [email protected].
