Though Indianapolis played host to The Beatles in 1964 when they performed live at the Indianapolis State Fair and has been the location of several solo appearances by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr throughout the years, this is the first time any member of the Beatles has performed live in the Summit City. The man who drummed on some of the most revered rock classics of all time as well as the crooner on The Beatles “Act Naturally,” “Yellow Submarine” and “Don’t Pass Me By” will share not only his drumming skills but his natural showmanship, which shines Ringo Starr poses for a portrait on Monday in New York. Starr through abundantly on stage. is currently on a U.S. tour with his AllStarr Band, which finishes on July 2 in Los Angeles. He turns 76 on July 7. Beatles fans have a lot to look forward to, but fans who (From The Associated Press) go to the show will also hear some fantastic music from members of the AllStarr Band who are hitmakers in More Information their own right. Ringo and his AllStarr Band The current AllStarr Band lineup includes Gregg Rolie WHAT: Ringo Starr, once a member of The Beatles, brings from Santana (“Black Magic Woman”) and Journey his AllStarr Band to Fort Wayne fame, Steve Lukather, legendary session guitarist and WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday member of the group Toto (“Africa,” “Rosanna” and “I Won’t Hold You Back”), Todd Rundgren, an iconic WHERE: Foellinger Outdoor Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd. musician himself with an amazing career, who’s most famous for helming the group the Nazz and his solo COST: Sold out hits (“Hello it’s Me” and “I Saw the Light”) and Richard Page from the group Mr. Mister (“Broken Wings,” “Kyrie”). While The Beatles’ career and music catalog are legendary, Ringo Starr’s solo career has unfortunately been somewhat ignored in recent years not only by Beatles fans but pop/rock fans in general. It may be hard to believe, but after The Beatles broke up in 1970 up until 1975, Starr had the best hitmaking track record of the four exBeatles. Starting in 1971 with the Top Ten hit “It Don’t Come Easy” (written by Starr and George Harrison), six more Top Ten hits followed including “Back Off Boogaloo” in 1972, “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen” both No. 1 hits in 1973, “Oh My My” and “Only You” in 1974 and “No No Song” in 1975. Starr was the only member of The Beatles to be able to harness cooperation from all of his exbandmates resulting in his classic bestselling album “Ringo” in 1973, which featured songwriting contributions from John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney and the nearly reunited Beatles (only Paul was missing) playing on the Lennon written classic “I’m the Greatest”. When Starr’s drinking became an issue and his solo hits began to dry up in the late 1970s, the legendary exBeatle went through a tough period of poorly received albums, which left his recording career in near tatters. Starr also dabbled in the world of acting from the late 1960s through the 1980s, which further distanced him from his music and may have contributed to his becoming more of a headline then a musical headliner in the 1980s. Though managing one more Top 40 hit in 1981 with “Wrack My Brain,” written by George Harrison, Starr nearly STOCK SUMMARY gave up on his musical career until he stopped drinking and went into rehab in 1988. http://www.newssentinel.com/entertainment/artsandmusic/RingoinStarrstuddedperformanceatFoellingerOutdoorTheatre 1/3 6/16/2016 Ringo in Starrstudded performance at Foellinger Outdoor Theatre Arts & Music NewsSentinel.com Dow 17733.10 92.93 In 1989 Starr hit the road for the first time since The Beatles’ last tour in 1966 with the first incarnation of Ringo Nasdaq 4844.92 9.98 and His AllStarr Band, which reawakened his love of performing and jumpstarted his musical career. Stock Sponsor In 2015 Starr was finally inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo performer; he was inducted as a member of The Beatles in 1988, thus highlighting his achievements as a performer outside of his untouchable contribution to music as a member of The Beatles. Starr seems content these days to record and tour and has bonded with the current AllStarr Band lineup, which he says feels more like a band to him. He has said in many interviews over the years that’s where he’s most comfortable and happy, playing with a great band of musicians. “I feel like we are a band; maybe my name is in the front, but we’re a band,” Starr told Billboard magazine earlier this month. “We support each other, and we know each other and we have a lot of fun. We play well, the songs are great and the audiences love it, but it’s also sitting on the plane, sitting in the bus, sitting in the van — it’s all OK.” Comments NewsSentinel.com reserves the right to remove any content appearing on its website. 1 Playlist Nov. 13th 2016 LIVE! From DUKES in Malibu 9AM / OPEN Three hours non stop uninterrupted Music from JPG&R…as we broadcast LIVE from DUKES in Malibu…. John Lennon – Steel and Glass - Walls And Bridges ‘74 Much like “How Do You Sleep” three years earlier, this is another blistering Lennon track that sets its sights on Allen Klein (who had contributed lyrics to “How Do You Sleep” those few years before). The Beatles - Revolution 1 - The Beatles 2 The first song recorded during the sessions for the “White Album.” At the time of its recording, this slower version was the only version of John Lennon’s “Revolution,” and it carried that titled without a “1” or a “9” in the title. Recording began on May 30, 1968, and 18 takes were recorded. On the final take, the first with a lead vocal, the song continued past the 4 1/2 minute mark and went onto an extended jam. It would end at 10:17 with John shouting to the others and to the control room “OK, I’ve had enough!” The final six minutes were pure chaos with discordant instrumental jamming, plenty of feedback, percussive clicks (which are heard in the song’s introduction as well), and John repeatedly screaming “alright” and moaning along with his girlfriend, Yoko Ono. Ono also spoke random streams of consciousness on the track such as “if you become naked.” This bizarre six-minute section was clipped off the version of what would become “Revolution 1” to form the basis of “Revolution 9.” Yoko’s “naked” line appears in the released version of “Revolution 9” at 7:53.

  • Ringo Starr Actuarà Per Primera Vegada En Solitari a Barcelona Aquest Dimarts El Bateria De the Beatles Ho Farà En El Marc Del Guitar BCN 2018

Issue 30 Editorial Sing now, ye people of the tower of Anor, for the realm of Sauron is ended forever, andthe Dark Tower is thrown down. Mae govannen and welcome to Anor 30! More than once I have wondered what exactly I was letting myself in for when I took the heavy red folder that constituted the archives of Anor. I foresaw sleepless nights and editorial nightmares ... and a significant reduction in essay marks for the rest of the term. But not all of these things have come to pass; if Galadriel' s mirror has taught us anything it is that visions may be deceptive. Any unpleasantness that did occur is easily compensated for by the joy that I have had in receiving and reading the articles that are set in these pages for you to ponder. You will see articles that speak of the CfS and its doings of late, followed by some silliness and not quite serious pieces, followed by the seriousness; an essay on Samwise Gamgee, and a thoroughly thought-through article examining Peter Jackson's handling of the book thus far. Two of this issue's articles were contributed from overseas ... There truly is no excuse to keep you from showing the world that facet of Tolkien's grand mythos that you see, be it serious or no. As the last sentence may have warned you, I'm already on the look out for things to put in Anor 31. Anor is, it seems, a strange creature; it appears every couple of years, promises to stay, and then vanishes, snark-light, until the next time.
