“ISNA Green Home Guide” Barakah Rating System Matrix Ramadan 2020/1441 ISNA Green Initiative Committee ISNA Greening Ramadan “HOW TO” Guide for the “ISNA Green Home Guide” Barakah Rating System Matrix 1) REGISTER: Two ways to register: A green coordinator is selected by your Muslim community connected with a Masjid Islamic Center, or as a single household and/or individual if single. a) Under Masjid Islamic Center place name of the organization you are affiliated or typically attend. b) ‘Under Contact person’s name,’ either the Green coordinator’s name, phone and email selected for your community OR your household’s name, email, phone number. 2) Under the ISNA web site under ‘Resources’ []https://isna.net/resources-page/] Download the” ISNA Green Home Guide.” Print and Place green matrix on your refrigerator, or most viewed and accessible space in your home. 3) START using ISNA Green Home Guide, first Day (if possible) develop a plan of activities you can easily accomplish in one month for your home during Ramadan. 4) ABOUT GREEN MATRIX: Rating System based on a Barakah Rating system that gives you and us a quantifiable measure of how green your Ramadan was based on the established matrix. The rating reflects your accomplishment. The matrix activities have been made easy to accomplish except a few items that may require more work on your part. We want you to participate and try your best! Inshallah. a) There are ‘Seven Sections’ (rows) based on areas that most readily effect homes, with various activities (columns) possible in that section. Some boxes in the columns, along a section, has two Activities. You may think of other activities not listed in the matrix, but these were some of the easiest to accomplish, with some exceptions (Maximum points are 1-5pts). There are more activities then points, purposefully, to make this an easy task, yet challenging. b) One activity equals one point. There are seven sections. There are 31 maximum points. c) The Rating system is called a “Barakah Green Rating System based on a ‘praising of Allah (swt),’ as a measure of your rating achieved. There are four (4) levels of praises with respective points to attain that level. In otherward, the goal is to show “Gratitude” to Allah (swt) for achieving a level in lieu of oneself. The certificate given to each household/community shall show the Barakah level achieved (e.g. Tasbih,Tahlil, Tahmid is level 3 requiring 15-23 points plus a tree will be planted for achievement). See Green Matrix for points required for each barakah/praise level. 5) END of Ramadan (after Eid): Send ISNA your green home matrix indicating the rating level achieved. Either send to your selected Green Coordinator, if your Muslim community designated one, or directly send your achievement as a household (as you initially registered) and clearly state with what Muslim community/Masjid Center you typically congregate, to: [email protected] 6) CERTIFICATION: A Certification of achievement will be sent to you, indicating how many households participated in your community and a tree will be planted by Pen and Inkpot Foundation for your Muslim community/Masjid Islamic Center community’s participation. SUMMARY Fadâil al-Qur'ân is the usual title given to chapters in various hadith compilations or to individual works that deal with the "excellences" or "virtues of the Qur'ân." It is a sub-category of a rather voluminous literature in Islam called fadâil or manâqib ("virtues" or "excellences"). In general, the fadâil material has not been studied in depth, usually dismissed as praise or hagiographie literature that is not worthy of the historian's serious attention. In this paper, I seek to show that both the religious and the social historian may profitably mine the fadâil al-Qur'ân literature for valuable insights into, for example, early attitudes towards writing conventions in the mushafs, manner of recitation, the probity of accepting wages for teaching the Qur'ân, and the authoritativeness of oral vs. written transmission of the Qur'ânic text.

    Camel Tails Glossary Arabic Spelling : Arabic spelling is strictly phonetic in the English language, as there is no direct correlation of the Arabic alphabet to the English version. Thus you will find such things/places spelled as Mekka, Mecca, Jeddah, Jidda, Jiddah, Mohammad, Muhammad, Osama bin Laden, Usama bin Laden, etc. All are essentially correct, and usually dependent on the source (or physical location) of the information. Earlier spellings (for instance from “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom ” by Lawrence) will have the same locations spelled quite differently, but readily recognizable. Arabic Names : These can get tricky. The last name of an Arabic individual is usually indicative of his tribal origin. For instance: Abdul Aziz al Saud (using the short form), would indicate that his given name is Abdul Aziz of the family of Sa’ud (or more correctly, the tribe of Sa’ud). Essentially, “al ” means “of, ” such that he would be Abdul Aziz of the Sa’ud Tribe. We had one Navy Commander whose name was Ammar al Katani. This means (in its simplest form), Ammar of the Katani Tribe. We initially called him Commander Katani, but were quickly corrected to calling him Commander Ammar (who, if you wish to get specific) comes from the Katani Tribe. Calling Commander Ammar, Commander Katani would equate to calling an American Indian of the Apache Tribe who happened to hold the rank of Captain in the Tribal Police say, Captain Apache! This mistake in Arabic is closely equated to the same faux pas. Occasionally you will see the designation “abu ” in an Arabic name, and this usually means “father of ” or “grandfather of ”.

The study was designed in the form of qualitative descriptive research by applying field research, teological normative, and socio-cultural approaches. The data were collected through interview and documentation. The result showed that tahlilan for Ternatenese is nothing but the momentum where family, relatives, friends, and surrounding communities gather to recite some hayyibah sentences (hamfdalah, takbir, shalawat, tasbih), Qur’an verses, dhikr, and other prayers. Ternate society believes that tahlilan is crucial as a medium of da’wah. There are many positive benefits felt by the people of Ternate such as psychological, social, economic, and importantly religious awareness. In religion side, tahlilan is a minfestation of love for Islam and the cultivation of the monotheism concept. The development of understanding and awareness in Muslim religion also lead to a process of evaluation and change in the implementation of tahlilan. In this case, Islamic da'wah succeeds in influencing the socio-cultural life of Ternate community. The tahlilan tradition can exist til now because it is considered to still have coherence with Islamic values, customs and culture. Ternate society still hope that the tradition of tahlilan will last forever.
