Bottini is one of the founders of the New York Chapter of the National Council of Women, was a founder of AIDS Project Los Angeles, as well as the Triangle Square Gay and Lesbian Elder Housing facility in Hollywood. She has been a long-time activist for LGBT rights, and said she has no plans to slow down. “I have decided that I am going to live until at least one hundred, because you are a long time dead, and I still have a lot of work to do,” Bottini said. “The thing about living a long life is enjoying it.
