Quick Hits on Truman State: • Truman State fell short in its bid to take over the lead in the GLVC standings last week, as the Bulldogs allowed 31 straight points after scoring first and fell 31-7 to Indianapolis. The loss ended a six-game winning streak for the Bulldogs, who are tied with S&T for second place at 5-1 in conference play.

• Quarterback Jaden Barr completed 19-of-30 passes a week ago for 123 yards and has connected on 57 percent of his throws this season for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns. Barr’s leading target has been Dante Ruffin with 26 catches for 243 yards, while CJ Brown has caught 15 passes for 1623 yards. Tight end Jake Ellis has five touchdown receptions among his seven catches.

• Barr is also the Bulldogs’ leading rusher with 912 yards on the year, a total that ranks third in the GLVC and first among to pace the conference’s second-best rushing attack at 216.9 yards per game. Jordan Salima has rushed for 588 yards and five scores, while Rolla High School product Andy Satulla has 461 yards and five scores as well.

• Truman’s leaders in tackles are safeties Wyatt Fishel and Jordan Siegel with 58 stops apiece, while another member of the Bulldog secondary, Lawrence Woods, is one of the GLVC’s most dangerous special teams performers. Woods has returned three kickoffs for touchdowns this year and leads NCAA Division II with an average of 48.6 yards per kickoff return.

Series history with Truman State: In what will be the 81st meeting between the teams, Truman holds a 52-24 lead with four ties in the all-time series. Missouri S&T has won two of the last three meetings, including last season’s 27-11 victory in Kirksville that started nearly three hours after the scheduled start time due to a weather delay. Braxton Graham had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the game and Deshawn Jones rushed for a then career-high 152 yards.

However, both of the Miner wins over Truman in the last three matchups came away from home, as S&T has not defeated Truman in Rolla since taking a 14-9 decision on the final day of the 1983 season. The Bulldogs have won 13 straight from the Miners at Allgood- Bailey Stadium, including a 44-20 win in the most recent encounter in 2016 that saw Truman score two defensive touchdowns. The Miners trail 25-11-4 in the matchups in Rolla.

A victory over Truman State would: -- Give the Miners a 9-2 record, assuring S&T of its fourth-ever season with at least nine wins and first since 2012. -- Give the Miners their third win over Truman State in the last four matchups and first in Rolla since 1983. -- Give the Miners their 12th win in their last 15 GLVC contests. -- Make the Miners 9-1 against NCAA Division II competition in 2018. -- Give the Miners a second place finish in the final GLVC standings; Indianapolis has clinched the outright GLVC title. 2018 MISSOURI S&T FOOTBALL NOTES 7 The Last Time...
